i have Asus P527. i lost CD for downloading GPS. how can i get it without CD which was provided by the company alongwith the set. i need GPS in my hand set but without CD i cant make it possible. so, pl help me and suggest what to do ?

smd, 12 Dec 2010how to update GPS IN P527Hi SMD,
If you have a GPRS connection, go to Asus Launcher -> GPS -> GPS Catcher, click on Update. The programme will update the GPS automatically. It will show the message that the GPS has been completely updated. Dont forget to disconnect from GPRS network after GPS update.

Try this:
1. Call Reliance customer care and ask for this information: gprs connection name and access point name (APN). Do not ask for anything else, for they will give you rubbish like your phone is not compatible with our gprs..
2. Go to Start -> Settings -> Connections (tab) -> Connections
3. Click on Add a new modem connection
4. In Enter a name for the connection field, enter the name the customer care gave you.
5. In Select a modem list, select Cellular line (GPRS) then click Next
6. Enter the Access point name custormer care gave you. Click Next.
7. Do not (R) do not enter any user name or password. Click finish.
8. You'll come to the My ISP page. You'll see the reliance connection in the list. Press and hold on that name with stylus. You'll get 2 options, delete and connect. Select Connect.
Your cell will connect to the network

I have Asus P527 too, but connection is BSNL Prepaid.
Try this: Go to start -> settings -> connections -> Network setting -> Tick the 'Select your operator...'. Then select BSNL from the drop down list (If you've upgraded to Windows 6.1. If you are still using Windows 6, then select BSNL Postpaid from the drop down list) -> OK
Then go to connections -> manage -> click on 'Advanced' tab -> Select Networks -> select 'BSNL Internet' settings from drop down list -> edit -> edit.
In the 'Enter a name for the connection' text field, leave "BSNL Internet" as it is.
Click Next. In Access Point Name (APN), you'll see gprssouth.cellone.in.
Delete this and enter bsnlnet then click Next.
In Username, you'll see MSISDN; delete this and delete password also. Do not enter anything in these fields.
Click on Finish. In the displayed screen, press and hold on BSNL Internet. You'll get two options, delete and connect. Click on connect.
Phone will connect to internet and you'll see the icons in the top bar. That should solve your problem.
Go to browser. Happy browsing..

You can use XT9 to achieve this function.For the XT9, please tap input panel and change the input methods to XT9, at that moment, you will see input panel change to XT9 but you will still have a virtual keyboard. Then please tap the XT9 icon on the input panel, the virtual keyboard will disappear, after that you can use the keypad to input letters and numbers.
