A shame about Padfone. Wonderful concept but such bad quality wirkmanship. I had the Padfone 2. It was such a disaster. Proprietary micro usb would have is pins bent all out of place.never happened to me and I am talking as far back as the Spv phones running Microsoft The screen broke. I replaced the screen to promptly break again. B een on various sites reading up on these phones. Asus need to stop production. Look into their r&d. Pressure test their phones, because there is quite a lot of negative feedback and these phones can cost a lot. In the end after paying £400 for my 32gb one I had to buy another phone. Nexus 5. No comparison leagues ahead in quality and reliability

I've had this Asus padfone mini for less than a month and I'm having problems with the tablet part,I touch to open up an app or to play a game and it won't work unless I close out the screen or restart it. I've spent too much money on it for this to be happening , can somebody please tell me what should I do ...

seems to be a new generation mobile-cum-pad.. but the battery is Li-po 1500 mAh which is very low for the product like this.
Also, android version is not the latest.
The company need to improve its specifications as per the current market conditions if they want to give a tough fight.
My view is that "dont go for this mobile"

My charging port broke easy. 26 years of having a phone and I have never broke a charging port. It is not replaceable to fix! Asus wants to charge me the same amount that i paid for my phone to replace it....I had to buy an actual battery charger, take my battery out just to charge. I tried other repair stores and the part is so new and rare that nobody makes replacement ports..I wish I had never spent so much money on this. However i can still use it and the tablet, but the battery drains so fast that I don't even fool with it and use another phone. I hate it. :(

Ok a quick review of the padfone mini, I have had mine since Feb its the worldwide version (I believe)
As a handset mine has been good, clear screen and camera is good enough not as good as the top end Nokias etc but good for most tasks. Sound and call quality are very acceptable also, wifi hasnt dropped out much at all.
Processing wise it is reasonably quick for most apps but I dont use mine for gaming or benchmarks (get a S5 for that sort of stuff) It is however very slippy in the hand and easily dropped the edges are very rounded and the devise, not dropped it yet but had a few sweaty moments saving it from the floor.
Apps load quickly and GPS is found within 20 secs normally, large pdfs are handled without problem and daily tasks are no challenge for this phone.
However, the tablet does have weaknesses, once the phone is inserted or removed from the tablet background apps are killed, there's meant to be an option to keep them alive but mine clears them regardless?
I had to get a cover for the phone (by asus) and of course needs to be removed to fit in the tablet. As a tablet is functions as it should, no noticeable speed difference for most apps which is good.
Screen res is just about acceptable but not very vibrant and difficult to see in sun light. Its not worth getting a case for this as its too fiddle if you want to get to the phone if needed quickly.
There is options to priorities the phone for charging which is great after a long day on the road just pop it in the tablet for several more hours use, this is the biggest draw of the tablet function, but there are buts and big ones at that!
Main issue for me has been charging the pad, it has died twice and is with Asus at presently for another repair as the pad has completely died twice over the past 6 months.
The screen goes black and pressing the power button twice turns it on, but then shuts off again. Eventually it decides not to charge at all and becomes a large tea coaster.
Asus keep trying to repair it rather than replacing it which is a massive inconvenience, as I bet it'll go wrong again! They also need the phone and tablet back to fix it even if the phone is OK and without issue, so you loose both devices for 10 days.
Would I buy this phone/tablet again in a word NO its as good as any other mid range phones out there but the quality of the tablet is not good enough not only in its hardware reliability but its screen resolution and hot swapping apps from phone to tablet ie ebay/facebook didnt work for me, it just kills the apps regardless.
I think if your looking to buy one of these, bite the bullet and get a phablet, one case large enough screen as get a mini mobile charger, it'll do everything this phone/tablet does without the issues above. I have on purpose not called this devise a phablet because its not in my opinion. Its one or the other independently and if I had just bought it as a tablet it would have been returned by now.
So to say its not as goods as it looks overall, if I'd paid £240 for just a phone it would be better spec'd than the padfone on review here.
If it fails one more time it'll be for sale on a well know auction site somewhere.

It may take 2 hours, or 2 days, but eventually is shuts down and won`t restart unless I dock it padstation, I put the power cord in, or I take out the battery, and then it restarts. I did factory reset, reflashed ROM, etc, I googled it and the same issue is reported with the "Padfone 2". Asus support says I should take it to a support center but I bought it abroad.
