So I have this phone sincer 2021 august, since then I am using it as my dayle driver. Never had an issue with it. I see 90% of users here had a really bad experience with this device. Don't know what to say.. am I just that lucky?! 2.5 years and still rockin this beast.

my sim card slot started to face issue reading my sim card shortly after a year. The service centre commented that it is likely caused by the motherboard; and I need to pay 80% of the phone price in order to replace the motherboard. I gave up and bought myself a new iphone instead.

Ive been using the phone for 2 years...not only i face lag issue...now.my audio jack doesnt detect the earphone. my rog 4 experience was even worst when the motherboard fried and the dealer technician concluded that it happened due to playing games without the cooler. well tbh this phone is not worth buying unless.u expect your phone to only function for a year. 🤣

In India the phone was launched at 50k INR. Replacing motherboard cost 52k INR. Doesn't make any sense. Mine died exactly after one year and they wanted to charge me 52 k for everything. I even went to 3rd partie repair shops, it's problem with cpu not entire motherboard. Even they can't fix it. So just sell the good parts of your phone and get a new phone. Not an Asus one

I bought this cellphone at an expensive price but not even two years later the cellphone died, I was very disappointed with the rog, I will never buy a rog phone again

Sad to see a lot of people having issues with this phone. Mine has been going strong for 2 years and 8 months now since launch, I love it. Great performance and battery life, stellar speakers for a phone. Love the fact that you can use the back LED as a notification light since I like to put my phone face down a lot. Will probably be buying an Asus next time too, they're one of the only three(?) brands that still keep the headphone jack.
Btw, the page is outdated, I got my rog phone 5 updated to Android 13, so it's upgradeable to 13, not 12.

Waste of money...please don't buy this phone. My phone is almost dead within a year. Wifi not working, 2nd SIM not working.

It's been 2 years of my ROG 5. And now it's dead. I tried to fix this via service center. They replaced the processor but it took 12 days to fall again on another part. So I quit fixing it. In this 2 years, the phone was awesome. Sometimes, some features was not working but still for gaming, it was perfect. Than Now its dead. Don't waste money on this if it fall down once.

did you just untighten the screws in the motherboard to medium level, and wifi works again? If yes, is the fix still working up to the present?

ASUS ha... moreyou are right the worst ever phone in terms of life expectancy. the motherboard can go dead any time without any heavy usage. only buy if you have ample amount of money otherwise its gonna cost you like hell if not in warranty.
