Totally bullshit… after waiting too much time for this type of shit? Why punch hole display? Why why? Why reduce the battery capacity? No need for camera upgrade…just totally disappointing… i would rather buy the previous version….

Every smartphone company upgraded their batteries to a higher amount a few years ago. But now they are downgrading batteries but increasing efficiency. If a 6000 mAh phone in 2019 could give you 10 hours for high load usage, a 5000 mAh phone in 2023 can give you 13 (or somewhere around it).

Nahh, 17 Dec 2023Design looks mehh, but those specs are awesome!!awesome where , awesome at downgrading the battery from 6000 to 5500 and selling the phone with above than 1000USD? is that awesome for you? the battery was 6000 since ROG Phone 2 btw, after 5 generations of ROG and they are downgrading not upgrading, i didn't find anything special or awesome about that.

Since Rog Phone 2 the battery capacity was 6000mAh now you are telling me the Rog Phone 8 will have a 5500mAh!! if Asus did that then i am sure the old team who created the Rog Phone are disbanded and now we have some amateurs running this brand without having any clues about their customers, they didn't even learn marketing basics.

Only gen 2 was decent, but gen 3 is a step backwards, failing in consumption department the same way gen 1 did. The red magic has 6500mah and only marginally better browsing times compared to S23+, for example, with its much smaller battery. All SD3 phones are like that. Not even one with decent battery life (For the battery size at least).

                                    It's simple

                                    Clean big screen
                                    Top speakers and DAC
                                    144 or 120Hz max
                                    +6000mAh battery

I suspect that Asus will stop producing the Zenfone and this will be the successor to both, that won't turn out well, just remember the Lenovo Legion Y70

Android15, 18 Dec 2023expensive gaming phone that will only be supported for 2 years The really sad part about this is Asus won't do anything because you'd be hard pressed to have a professional gamer (as in, people using this to make money) to keep this thing for more than the 2-3 years it's supported anyway. And they can justify that too, just like YouTubers can justify the latest iPhone every year.
