Hey make sure you dont place the App on SD card as it might Lag also check the network connection if that is causing the device to lag.
Update the firmware & use Power saver App to change the battery mode to performance mode

make sure your internal storage free atleast 5GB
do uninstall apps, which are not usefull to you including preloded
uninstall dr web security, amazon kindle, omlet chat , like thses , cm security
deny all apps ( except antivirus app) using asus auto start manager from downloaded tab and preloaded
use asus mobile manager, press power and boost
install ccleaner app , do scan and remove unwanted applications

update asus calling screen and dialpad
press call icon , on right side click 3 dots ,--edit tabs ---uncheck box in call guard --done
restart the phone and check problems on , if still persists means ,
start the phone in SAFEMODE , press power --then hold power tab for 4 seconds , press ok ,
now the phone started in safemode s in safemode , all third appliactions are not available ,
so here is the best place to all problems , check your problems areewe there , if no problems means , then third party applications giving problems ,
