Try updating your firmware version, Wipe cache partition, Check the scratch guard if that's not blocking the proximity sensor, run SMMI test to check if its a hardware issue.
How to Enter SMMI_TEST (test hardware)
Go to Calculator=>type " .12345+= "
you will be entered to SMMI_TEST

proximity sensor ..when i call someone i have to use power button to on screen ..its not automatically working.

Facebook App has some problem as this is not the only issue with zenfone but will all the devices you can google & check.
For Playstore issue wipe cache partition, uninstall updates of playstore re-install to the latest version

For those who are facing proximity issues do the following
-->tap on the phone button
-->on the left side you see 3buttons vertically
-->it shows a list swipe up
-->tap on settings in that
-->now you see "Calling Screen Settings"
-->turn off the proximity here
-->now your phone will turn on while calling
ASUS settings are changed in their APPS that's why we are facing proximity issues.As they are saying this is a power saving feature.but the working style of proximity has been changed in their apps.but defective goods are defective,i can't help you in that(sorry)

MIS, 30 Nov 2015Dear user friends please read my review----- I received Ze... morePlease do a factory reset and upgrade your firmware + update all internal apps , once done a firmware upgrade try to do a factory reset again........cheers this will definately solve your issue........this is not a hardware issue, this is a software bug.....which can be resolved by doing some research.............

I Have been using zenfone 5 for 1 year... and it is excellent in every aspect... and i have ordered zenfone 2 now... but according to all above reviews i am confused... should i cancel the order or it is good?

I started facing 2 issues.
1. proximity sensor ..when i call someone i have to use power button to on screen ..its not automatically working.
2. When i used to close camera app in hdr mode it just hanged up and showing a message (assus launcher is not working )
Please help to fix this,if anybody facing the same issue

Dear user friends please read my review-----
I received Zenfone 2 Laser ZE550KL on last 26/11/2015 it has two major Software related issues (Flipkart - India)
1. When i call the other end people can't hear my voice after 2 minutes and onwards (Its like the call connected in the poor reception area)
2. Poor loud speaker output for ring tone and even while we use for music.
But on the same day when i enabled data received a system update notification Firmware WW_1.15.40639_. I have downloaded the same on 3G network and installed, the both worst issues solved!!!!!.
But i face ear pain when i use the for calls the pain is really unbearable, in 30 seconds i feel the pain the intensity increases as long as i am on call. The SAR Value of the phone is in the lower side of permissible limit (0.36 W/Kg), but the feel of radiation is too extreme why??????
Did any body felt this type of pain; kindly reply
