Anyone realise that the phone never uses the zoom lense in auto mode? Or is it just mine? When I tap on the 2.3x zoom button on the camera viewfinder, the camera zoomed 2.3times but still using the wide angle lense. I realise this when i tried covering the zoom lense while zooming. At any level of zooming, only the wide angle lense is used. I only manage tu use the zoom lense in manual mode when I manual choose the zoom lense. Anyone experiencing the same thing? Or is it just mine? My latest firmware update is april 2017.

I'm very happy with the Zenfone 3 zoom.
Unique in Europe. Got the item from Taiwan. Got the phone within 4 working days.
For me is the Asus Zenfone 3 zoom the best one. Metal frame, Goril. glass 5 generations. Azus is the first phone powered with a huge battery of 5000 mAh.
If you like to photography.... is the Zenfone 3 zoom the best one.
The Zenfone 3 zoom is not available in Europe and (not yet) in the USA.
4 GB ROM
64GB RAM
expandable with micro sd card of 256GB
Mostly I need to charge the item in 5 days or more.
For other phones, I need recharge the item more often...
Thanks Asus for wonderful phone.

Hi all.
I have bought this phone, but even though it says the camera is fantastic it doesn't deliver.
It is one of the worst cameras in a Smartphone I have ever owned, losing handily to my Moto G4, my older Lumia 930, and even is worst than phones from several years ago.
The camera simply has no definition or sharpness. All images look blurred even in very bright sunlight. As if they were finger painted or something.
Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. Not worth the money.

Dan, 07 Apr 2017I pre-ordered on B&H at $329.00 (now sold out) and they... moreI am in the exact same boat as you Dan! I ordered from BH last month as their price was hard to resist! The original ship date was end of April which has now been pushed out to the end of May... I got it for my wife who loves taking photos... I used to have a Note 7 until the recall... I now have a Pixel xl and an LG V20... I am curious to see how good the 3 Zoom is?! I have my eyes on the S8 plus and LG V6... I am also considering holding off until the Note 8... decisions decisions lol

I prefer a delay than to have what happened with the LG G4 which was months of overheating, bootlooping and frustration, got a replacement, same thing with the replacement then finally got a refund.
