I Would like to buy Asus Zenfone 5 A501CG (8GB), Shall i buy it and suggestions and Problems in Mobile.

    I am using this Ausus Zeonfone 5 since last one week and the perfomance is good except the battery draining problem. I have to recharge the battery 2 times daily due to continuous use of 3G. Camara quality is good in outdoors, but indoors, it is average. Overall performance of this phone is good at the price it is being offered in Flipkart.

        Adarsh, 14 Sep 2014My phone got restarted with no reason.Why would it be.Someb... moreIf you install any 3rd part applications in your phone it may be giving trouble. First just try to remove 3rd pary apps 1 by 1 and check the phone performance after removing.
        Then also it will not been resolved then try for Hard reset. (Pls Note data will be lost in hard reset, take the data backup before that)
        I suggest always check and keep phone updated and install only necessary applications.

                It is intended for China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau.

                This is not an international version, and is only intended for sale in above territories, also, it's very cheap.

                8 GB / 1 GB RAM only costs barely over 100 USD, slightly more with 2 GB RAM.

                Asus official stand is that you can't convert SKU by loading the WW version of the Android over the CU version.

                Someone here claimed that he could do just that. I have never tried though as all my Zens are International.

                  Anyone having auto restart issue??I guess it is due to zen ui or customisation bugs.Any rooted device having auto restart issue??If yes,then There is a problem with RAM module or internal hardware defects.Help please.

                    Asus comes with their own UI which you can't turn off. This is what most of your complaints are about.

                    That said, ZenUI still comes with 80% less bloatware than what Samsung comes with.

                    As for 3500 mAh battery - yes, that would be lovely. But this is a budget phone. There's always a Padfone option for those who need larger battery. It just costs 5 times more. And even comes with illuminated bottom sensor buttons, believe it or not...

                      Unzip to your hard disk, maybe desktop is easiest.

                      Open settings on your phone, tap on Storage, then top right corner tap on the USB logo. Make sure to have MTP selected, NOT Camera.

                      Now plug the phone with USB cable into your computer.

                      Under "Computer" (if your OS supports MTP) you should see another device, your phone, and in it the internal storage drive.

                      Copy the unzipped file to the root (main folder) of the internal storage of the phone.

                      When copying is complete, eject the phone.

                      The top of the screen should show a triangle with ! mark, and if you pull down the notification bar from the left, it will say that there is a system update available.

                      Choose to install it.

                      That will bring your phone to complete 1.18 firmware.

                      I believe I have seen the reason for the problems some of you are experiencing when buying another one yesterday - the shop did an OTA system update, which went to 1.18… but unfortunately, it missed out all the previous updates.

                      Seems Asus had misconfigured the OTA updates, which are incremental, by only installing last one, rather than all of them in sequence.

                      However the file in above link is COMPLETE OS, and as such includes all the previous updates.

                      After you install it, you can use standard OTA updates.

                        I have VERY BAD experience with this phone.
                        There were problem in speaker. I have searched Service center after long search in Pune. but in pune there are only 2 service centers.
                        Right now I am facing battery charging problem. Now again I have to go to service center which is 15- 20 KM from my place. This is very hectic for me to go there in weekdays because of my office time.

                        Now, if it will creates problem again and again and Company is not giving me good mobile.
                        I will think to take help by Cosumer Forum .

                                  This is best phone available in market. Battery is decent, if you still need more power then have a handy power bank. packed with performance,beauty,build quality. Never lags, high end games run smoothly, actually high end games detects intel processor as powerful compare to arm quad core and sets visual at highest level. Just loving it. Camera is awesome, without noise. Can be used in Low light condition though it will reduce to 2 Mega pixel image but still it can take photos in conditions where others would struggle at this price range.

                                    I have zenfone 5 z580 16gb internal, 2gb ram. The build number says ASUS_T00F_WW_user_1.96.40.50. Some of the apps could not be uninstalled. I have tried to update the latest firmware via OTA/download, but it doesnt work. It also always notify me to choose "allow" or "deny" when i try to open gallery, whatsapp, google search and almost of social media. It is very annoying for me, please help me if you know how to fix it or how to update for the latest software. Thanks

                                      Dear all i thank's for the update, I have also ordered Zenfone 5 today only for which i was waiting from 2 weeks continuously keeping check on the flipcart.
                                      Finally i placed an order online and the delivery commited as for 1 day.
