ASH, 05 Sep 2014Tomaz can you please help,, I am using ASUS zenfone 5 from... moreSet screen to automatic brightness, update to 1.18 firmware, close apps that you're not using.

I don't know how good the cellular signal is where you are, or how strong your wifi signal is, but usually lower channels of Wifi have stronger signal.

On cellular it's the other way around. The low frequencies need more power, so 2100 MHz 3G will make your battery last longer than 900 MHz 3G, on same signal level.

I would recommend that you open the settings, check battery graph and see what are the biggest power users, then address those.

Just bought the Zenfone 5 8gb, i was so exited to have the phone, what i like about this phone is the camera picture was amaizing, i havnt try much about the phone function before installing any software from the play store, i get this message popup on the screen says the "broser needs your location" all u need to do is to select the optioin Deny or Allow, after selcting either one of them u need to tick the box to confirm do not show this again. after doing that i installed some apps like Whatsapp, and this time the popup came out again says "whatsapp tries to read contact, Deny or Allow> and this popup keeps on coming out on the screen even u not using the program and while using other program it still poping out several time untill u have to press the Allow button many times then it gone, after few minutes it came out again the same problem and came out, i have no idea what happen and also some of the apps are very lagging. i had latest Android version 4.3, build number ASUS_T00J-WW_USER 1.13.40.8_20140516. 6 release keys, 010175_201401130121, any 1 who had this same problem pls inform me what to do. thank you in advance.

Hi Tomazz, is it possible that the battery life/span of Zenfone 5 improves after the release of kitkat? If so, does it improve dramatically or just a bit? Thank you!

AnonD-302708, 05 Sep 2014Hey.. I'm about to buy a new phone for me.. The problem is ... moreThis phone is really good i am using this phone for more than a week now , only problem i noticed is battery
you will need to charge this moble 2 times a day, if you can afford that then go for this phone. Currently best in market.

AnonD-302708, 05 Sep 2014Hey.. I'm about to buy a new phone for me.. The problem is ... moreIf you are looking for a phone on budget, that has an excellent user interface, very good build quality, screen and camera, great performance, and a little below par battery life, so you don't mind getting a small power bank in case it runs out of juice in the evening if you use it a lot, this is an excellent choice.

If you have a little more to spend, you may consider Benq F5 (not on GSM Arena yet to my knowledge) which has 20% larger battery and similar specs.

Other alternatives would be Motorola and Lenovo, who do have offerings with lower specs in around the same price range.

Other than that, it will be hard for you to find a decent phone in this price range.

Do note if you're Indian, that most new phones do NOT support 3G video calls from operators, but they do support Skype, Viber, Line, etc. video calls over 3G or Wifi on data pack.

Also that the battery life will depend on signal in your area, on apps you have open, on firmware you have loaded, and usage pattern.

I do not use it myself, but do recommend a powerbank of 5500-8000 mAh which can recharge the phone 2-3x from 0 to 100% with 2,000 mA output in case you are worried about battery.

hms, 05 Sep 2014hi am planing to purchase zenfone 5, guys am afraid abt the... moreSo basically same problem as with Apple iPhone, Sony XPERIA series, most of HTC phones, LG phones, …

And like on these you would normally press the power button and hold it for 5-10 seconds until phone powers off or reboots.

I am yet to see Zenfone hang. I am not saying it can't happen, obviously it can. Just in my case it did not (yet)… knock wood :P

Roja, 05 Sep 2014i couldnt able to charge my zenfone 5 mobile...today oly i ... moredo you have any portable hard disk with microUSB plug? If yes, or if you have another cable, try to use the portable hard disk's cable instead of the one that came with your phone, and try to charge it from powered USB hub or a USB port of a computer.

If that works, it's broken cable and/or charger.

In that case you take it back to shop… or maybe just take it to the shop and ask them to check it.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2014@Tomazz what is eMMC flash ??eMMC is the flash memory.

Basically the space for applications and your data. This can be "extended" by getting another flash storage card, a micro SD card, by another up to 64 GB.

In computer world, RAM (2 GB in case of this phone) is the memory that phone is working with while programs are running, and eMMC would be like a hard disk, where the stuff is stored and read from/written to.
