It is a great phone .It is better than Samsung S4 mini and Grand 2.Its camera is superb and it is like a professional camera.Only the thing is it has bad battery backup and it gets heated. Apart from this it is a great phone I ever had and everyone can afford it. If liked please buy this phone.

It seems like updating to kitkat will be a big problem. Kitkat doesn't allow user to write on SD card. Is there anything we can do? Is it more advisable not to upgrade to kitkat?

I just bought my asus zenfone5 less than 2 weeks . Its a good smartphone,but how can i get rid of the notifications saying e.g whatsapp want to read your contacts.And its stuck there. I cannot excess any of my application .I have to re-staart the phone & uninstall it ( Whatsapp ). I cannot download anything from google store .
Help me.

Just go and get this great phone. this phone is just awesome I am using grand from last 8 months but when I take this mobile in hand then I shocked for its performance

In Indian edition both 8gb rom & 16 gb rom phones have 2 gb ram,,,,,,,i bought it for my cousin its a good phone except battery backup it lasts for about a day on average use.....and no light for touch keys in the bottom.... remaining all i can just say superb

Hi All,
I bought Asus Zenfone 5 ( 16GB) a month ago. It's a pathetic phone,just within one month its display has gone, giving me headaches.Otherwise also its not a good phone, its touch is too sensitive and even after you disconnect the phone gets readilled.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GO FOR THIS HOPELESS Phone. Taking my phone tomorrow to the service station and will update you my friends

The next update they said will fix this. Please use the my asus app on ur phone or vist here: http://www.asus.com/in/ go to support, register ur device and email thee ur problem. I am going to wait for the solution. there are others facing the same issue.

I bought this phone about a month back. And awesome experience compared to the samsaung phone which i was using earlier. no lag like samsung while operation.supersmooth touch only camera could be more better but the one provided is worth at this price overall i am very happy with the overall experiece

However there will be some apps, like file managers, that simply will not have a way around unless they are installed as part of the system with system permissions.
Let's see how Asus gets around this problem.
Else the members on this forum will become experts in rooting their phone and installing SD-Fix ;)

Get a powerbank if concerned.
I carted one around with me all the time with the iPhones as I never knew when the battery would go flat, which was very often.
Given the price and size of powerbanks today, I would not think twice about getting it if I traveled somewhere that I wasn't sure battery would last me long enough or not.
Then again, so far it never went flat on me.

But I ended up buying the 8 gb one instead. What u said is true,but the update *doesn't* prevent you from using the SD Card. It simply prevents apps from writing to areas of the SDCard where they haven't been granted explicit permission.
It's still a problem but app developers can somewhat fix it buy updating their apps.

I have a ASUS Zenphone 5 16 GB a few days ago. When I charge the phone, it only charges up to 51% and stops charging. When I turn the power on and off, the batter shows up with a ? Mark on the battery. I went ahead and drained the battery and then tried to recharge the phone, but after about 5 hours of charging it showed just 52% charge and will not charge anymore. I need help before I take the phone to the service centre?
