the latest firmware upgrade ... moreThat's correct. The update you are mentioning is 1.17.40.
It was available since yesterday.
Do note that there are also whole bundle of the apps updated today, many from comments on the PlayStore from the users.
So if there's something that's bothering you about some apps, like ZenUI, or messaging app or email app or… rate app and write a review what's bothering you. They do read it and respond to criticism by actually fixing things, and doing that very quickly.
I must say that both Asus and Oppo have released updates… very often, and that's what you would expect - not only bugfixes but also enhancements requested by users were implemented.
Thinking when was the last update I got for Samsung… a year ago? It's not like it has no problems! They just don't care about fixing them.

i found one problem hopefully bug..while running fm radio lock screen..then vol up button only working vol down not working..but in music both of them are working..frnds pls tell if its a software issue or hardware..if any other guy facing the same problem..

If you have WW model, you should now be having 1.17.40 version of firmware.
It does have some serious updates in it, including OTG that many here were crying about...

That's original phone, but could be one of the early versions, or possibly 1 GB version.

My first time to use an Android phone and I simply Choosed this Zenfone 5,as an option, I use i5s so it's totally diff.
Problems I always encounter with Zenfone:
1. Facebook crashes all the time as well as facebook messenger
2. Network connection not consistent, this phone can detect strong connection signals but always saying connection timeout, so annoying, i don't believe it's the network though..
3. Asus keyboard sucks, no option to turn off auto correct.

just now updated my zenfone 5 to latest firmware
ran to the market, bought an otg cable for rupees 80
n yessssssss, my phone reads pen drive

Guys m using phone since 10 days lovely phone at 10k really must buyguys and today i updated and it supports otg now happy with phone .....dnt go with negative comments guys.....

This is one of the best all rounder device with performance and look in market. I think Asus is working around all the time to give any possible enhancement to their customer to make them happy.
