FYI after updating my zenfone 5 to pie
**developer option for the animations cannot be change to 1x or .5 it always revert back to 2x which is a bit disappointing since im used to turned this animations off.
**i dont know if this is because of the update, it seems that the phone is a bit unresponsive or is it just me being used to turning off the animations?
**the phone's signal reception, which was my previous complaint, is now better.
well i just have a question for everyone who have updated their phones to pie. Is it worth it? the pie update? i mean, i personally dont have complain about updating, but what do i really get from it though? TIA

Hi,
I came with bad news Vonarian. I did what you said, and nothing changed, my phone still charges for 5/6 hours. I suppose there is a problem inside, but I really don't know where it could come from because it happened suddenly.

Can someone help me. I got this zenfone 5 phone for like 9 months and after system update my battery drains so fast (5hrs only one game) and before the update i was getting like 8-10 hrs only one game i always play in my phone it's not heavy game like moba or pubg more like not overheating my phone (Fate Grand Order). Is the system update has problem? or is it I always leaving my phone overcharge at night and the auto ai charging was completely useless to predicate when it should do it's work. I use Accubatter it shows true percentage like dozen stats of battery usage over some android settings. Then the stats shows 2300 mah had been use throughout the day when playing the same game.

Have a light usage in a day until it turns off automatically. Be noticed that do not let your device get warm (decreases test accuracy).
And charge the device with a non fast adabter. I suggest using a low ampered one xD and i said non-fast charger coz' of adabters with 0.5A are very rare.
Do not turn on the phone when its charging ( After draining to 0-1% and auto off)
Tell me the result after doing these.

I'll try your suggestion, but I only have my original Asus adapter which is, I suppose, a fast charger adapter, and an "adaptive fast charging" charger (it is written on it!) I had when I last bought a new usb-c cable (also a Samsung) as my original Asus cable is broken. Is it fully necessary to use a non fast charge adapter ? If so, I can find one.
So, if I well understood, I have to let my phone turn off by itself (starting from 100%, right?) and then charge it to 100% without turn it on ?

1. Discharge to 0% or 1% (Slowly, don't let the device get warm) and let it turn off automatically.
2. Charge the device without a fast charger adabter.( NOTE: Do not turn on the phone until it's full charge.)
3. Check the battery percentage. it must be 100% before and after boot.
... If its not, the battery is broken are the device is being fake-charged.

Hi guys!
For about 2 months now, my zenfone 5 is charging super slowly. I mean, I used to charge it to its max for 1h30 at the beginning, and since then, I need 5h to reach 100%. I sent an email to Asus support, and all they responded to me was that I need to use the original charger, but the problem is that my original usb cable is broken; I only have the original Asus adapter. So they told me to buy a new one on AsusParts, but I seriously doubt that it will change anything or solve my problem. They also recommend me to send my phone to the repair center, but I don't want to do it now because it will take at least 2 weeks and I don't have any other phone for that time.
Do you guys know where the problem come from ? And maybe how to fix it without send it to repair ? Thanks in advance !

just updated my zenfone 5 to android pie everything is ok, battery life looking better than before no glitches/bugs no random restart, no lags so far, i dont notice any improvements with the camera thou

I just updated my phone 3days ago to pie, now it overheated and keeps rebooting itself until it coops down. Then it happend again, but this time the phone is cool, and no apps running. Only data is on. It happend twice while its cool and 2x when it overheated. Data is always on. Anyone experienced the same problem?

I just buy this phone and my current firmware is 15.0619.1807.23 ; that is 2018/07/30 date firmware. and this is one week after buy, but i always check for update but nothing FOTA for the next firmware or latest firmware ?
Should i upgrade normally or wait for FOTA ?

I want to ask.
my zenfone 5 sims hybrid slot, it can up and down or move right and down.
because it not solid and have a little distance between top/outside hybrid and sims place.
So, i want to know anyone have the same issue (Sims slot hybrid not solid and can move right/left or up/down ?
