Anonymous, 08 Sep 2018When this phone is going to get upgrade to android 9?That's hard to say. In fact, this is true for all Android phones because of the Android fragmentation. But Asus is nowadays trying harder. Since they consider 5z to be their flagship, it's likely that you will get upgrades up to Android Q.

You cannot get a surround audio through a mono or stereo set up. 5z has a stereo set up like many other smartphones, most smartphones just have mono set up, neither of which can do Dolby Atmos. All you get is a downscaled audio.

In my opinion this is the best value for money smartphone with sd845 in 2018. A all rounder flagship grade. phone. The review doesn't tell the storie.

Anyone here who also experience a non working "smart screen on" feature of zenfone 5z? Recently after the update the screen will turn off according to sleep timer you set even if you are still looking directly at the screen of your phone. According to the description of smart screen on, it will extend the screen on time while looking at the screen. But it doesn't work. Help please. :-(

1.Zenfone 5z indeed supports Widevine CMD Security Level L1, contrary to GsmArena review.
2.Stereo speakers are awesome and main USP of it. Don't go by the GsmArena review, hear for yourself, test watching some video- you'll love it!
3.I had a HTC One A9 before this. Camera quality is pretty good, and not anywhere bad as the review suggests. Use the wide angle cam, you'll see a different perspective..
4.Phone charging time: testes multiple times, it takes 70-80 mins ONLY to charge from 5-10% to full charge. The 2 hrs GsmArena reports in review is absurd. Maybe they used another charger that was lying around! I get 7hrs of SOT easily,too.
5.Display: Keep the brightness at 25%, go out and view in sunlight, the screen is superbly viewable. Auto brightness bumps up and the experience is same as my previous HTC one A9, which, by the way was excellent.

I want to buy a new phone. Confused between Asus Zenfone 5Z, Poco F1 and LG G7+..
Battery, audio and camera are priority.

Changed to Asus Zenfone 5Z 256GB/8GB from Moto G5S plus. I liked very much the Motorola, but this Zenfone 5Z is superb. The camera is better and sharper even in daylight, but especially evening photos with 5Z are incredible. I think that in this GSMarena review there must be somekind of technical trouble. Maybe moisture or something in the camera. Got two upgrades a couple of days ago and after that I should say that we have a real flagship. Absolutely the best handy that I have owned.
