Stop spreading fake news about this phone... i have been using this since it was first launched..... i can say it is a value for money no issues nothing only the battery is small thats it cameras r still good charging speed is fast android updates are on time .. u just get it a day later than oneplus 6

Mine is working well so far, and has been using nearly 2 years since the launch.
My only complain would be the battery is too small, which I have know from the start as by reading the mAh number, I know how much the capacity, but the Android updates and the good processor save it.
I use it everyday, with add on another 128GB Micro SD card of Kingston brand. No issue on WiFi, no Sim card issue (I frequently change Sim card, I got around 5 card), no weird memory lost or increasing.
I am a heavy user, and frequent traveler on all weather, and this phone never fail me.
Please go to service center to have the phone repaired properly instead on spreading hate at here.

Don't update your zenfone 5z to android 10 if you like the possibility to customise all your smartphone. Morover the app for the battery management is ruined because there are the only possibility to set manually a range of time and it doesn't by itself anymore with AI.

Stupid phone, using only for 1 year and now is broken. Wifi dead, SIM card cannot read, storage become full though all of content have been deleted. Even factory reset is the same. Just found out in threads that this is actually a very frequent problems that happened with so many Zenfone 5z all over the world. STAY AWAY from ASUS ZENFONE!!!

i have the same problem even before the update it didn't focus as i didn't use my cam that often i have only just got around to sorting it out with asus but getting help with them requires lots of patience

I just don't understand what kind of complaint that can be said on a phone sold at such price.
This is the prime example of how a smartphone that is being cheap, but doesn't compromised on quality.
Yes, on all the comparable expensive and non-expensive alternative, that is also equipped with SD845 processor, you do gain some pros over this smartphone, but that is on another price range that makes unfair comparison if compared to such kind of smartphone. This Zenfone 5z almost offer all the features of a flagship smartphone, but just minus some of the features. I use this phone everyday, and everything is working fine, almost no issue. It is also been upgraded to Android 10, and I really satisfied with the performance overall. As of the time of writing, this phone has been price drop half from it's original intended price, and is a real bargain.

Bought it at a bargain price in Dec 19. I was highly skeptical at first because of having poor experience with Honor but I was wrong. The phone is top of the class in performance however the build quality isn't that I can brag about. Honor 8 had a full aluminium metal frame on which the device was based and this just have a metal sheet over plastic.
Hats off to the software development team because it came with Android 8 but they've given us 10 which is highly stable. I miss the AI charging feature though. Compared it with Samsung S9 and real 48 MP Cam and this one clicks better 48MP shots than Redmi 7 Pro's 48MP. I use it rough but the battery lasts just fine. Wish it was 4000 mah. I don't understand why it cannot capture 960fps slomo. It's screen is though far worse than Honor 8's although brightness is higher. Dropped it a few times, fortunately no crack yet.

My older thumb drive USB2.0 able to read by the phone. Not sure if the phone can read a NTFS formatted thumb drive. Have you tried formatting a thumb drive to NTFS from PC/MAC & see if the phone able to read it. My Asus Padfone S+ able to read FAT32 & NTFS (can save large video files) formatted thumb drive.

Mine has no issue at all on the OTG, reading either any USB 2.0/3.0 thumb drive, reading keyboard and mouse, and also can read content of other smartphone if using proper cable, such as type C to type C cable, and also proper type C to USB A OTG. The type C port also can output digital audio if using proper type C to 3.5mm cable. The only problem might lie in the file system that it can read. It seems it has problem reading NTFS formatted USB thumb drive, which you need a NTFS mounting software. Totally has no problem on reading FAT32 and exFAT USB thumb drive. I'm using ASUS Zenfone 5z, with the latest Android 10 firmware.

All this while, I though my Zenfone 5z unable to read thumb drive via OTG. It seems, the OS software only able to read thumb drive that is USB 3.0. It will not read thumb drive USB 2.0 and below. :)
