Phone is fat and heavy, screen is also 2019 Samsung stuff - 90Hz and only half as bright as 2021 phones. But it's pretty much the only modern phone that actually has an uncut rectangular screen so it's my only choice. I just can't tolerate punch holes no matter how good the phone is, it's like having a bug on the screen level of annoying.
Shame Zenfone 8 is a letdown with basically the same recycled components, I ended buying this one at a discount. On the plus side, the OS is clean without bloatwares so props to ASUS.

Zenfone 6 was a good phone at a very competitive price. Unfortunately, 7 was too expensive. Hope 8 brings something competitive.

This would be amazing to be honest and would bridge a larger gap between the two phones

Microsoft BOB, 26 Sep 2020FYI guys there is where the notification LED is on ZenFone ... morepersonally, i'm happy with the led notification position, that spot on the bottom is always visible when i place it flat on the table, on my old zenfone 5, always had to lean forward to check. Im guessing they don't put it at the front because they might as well use the "always on" screen option for notifications.
however, i'm disappointed they limit the colours, for a colourblind person it's so difficult to see a small blinking green or red dot. until now i can't tell what the third colour is or if there's any at all

The zenfone 7 (non pro) is actually discounted here in Belgium, you can grab it for 499 euros which is, for me personally, a pretty good deal. It is only discounted on the official store of asus so for people living in Europe or maybe outside of Europe, you can get this one for 499 euros
