Look like a good phone, but it doesn't have expandable storage(microSD) nor an fm radio (war is starting to look real over the past few years). Gonna sell worse than either of the zenfone 8.

I wouldn't mind having this, but I'm in NA. I'm not holding my breath. Asus, while a very capable computer & peripheral maker, has this way of not getting phones ready for US market. AFAIK, zenfone 8 never had a NA version. I asked them once if the zenfone 8 would work in US with volte on tmobile and they said "no". Also (and this doesn't just apply to ASUS of course), the price of Android phones from "secondary" manufacturers used to be less than equiv Samsung. Now they're virtually the same. Not that I'm a Samsung fanboy, but what's the point...

Dealbreaker for me is no eSIM support.
And don't tell me about the esim.me service. Some providers do not provide a QR code. You must instead load their app, which directly loads the eSIM into your OS's eSIM interface.

I bought the zenfone 8 immediately after it was released. Initially everything was pretty good tho the battery life was a bit short, but it was not a huge issue. However after a few months of using one day it suddenly became a brick with the screen showing some kind of ramdump issue. I was not the only one who had this critical problem as you can very easily find other people reporting the exact same thing on asus official forum. Just google "zenfone 8 bricking". Asus support is also utterly terrible and they straight up tell you they can't do much even if your warranty's not expired.
