Wish it had sdcard slot. But at least got headphone jack. It should be purchased to promote headphone jack. Hopefully ZenFone 10 will have sdcard slot too!

Ultrawide is the most hyped and most rubbish camera.
Instead I prefer a zoom camera or a 5mp macro.

5.9" at (2400/1080) aspect ratio is 136.7x61.5mm while 5" at (16/9) is 110.7x62.3mm.
The screen size(especially the width) is too small for comfortable typing. I don't want to go back to phone sizes that were popular 8 years ago. 😐

zenfone 8 rear camera placement is ugly and now even more for zenfone 9. can they learn from RoG phone series design? oh boy

Zenfone 8 with SD 888 (non plus) and 4000 mAh battery get 88 hrs endurance rating.
Zenfone 9 with same size and type of display, SD 8+ gen 1, 4300 mAh battery, will get much more endurance rating. This is great compact phone for Android user. And it looks like Xperia 5 Mark IV will not coming this year, hohohoo...

I can't believe it. Just when I lost all hope for a upper class compact phone Asus gives us:
-6"ish screen (5.9" even better)
-Power efficient SD 8+ Gen 1
-Big battery with 4300mAh
-Attractive design with metal frame
-Good camera with 6-axis OIS
-3.5mm headphone jack
-In-button fingerprint reader
Way to go ASUS, I'll buy it the day it comes out.

Small (if compared to the current standards), flagship SoC, 3 cameras that actually seems to do their job very well (no megalomania with 12 cameras where only 1 is half decent), tons of options of RAM/storage, IP68, glass everywhere, audio jack, good screen, NFC...
Well done, Asus. This phone has everything to easily beat many flagships.
