Great phone, for budget-midrange phone. Though out of box the phone just Like a baby its pure and lack of features. But the update slowly fix things up and the phone is great now.
The problem i had only it doesnt read 5ghz wifi, only 2,4ghz, I know the soc support it, hope the devs fix this
And also it only support green and red led notify, and normal flash.

or if its showing area name & all goto settings-apps¬ifications and when u go down there is emergency alerts in that disable all broadcasts option

If i downgrade the firmware to 305, will the battery be the same like before? I used 338 firmware now, the battery is reduce not like before i updated, and the phone feels warm even when i used wifi without inserting sim card, and just playing facebook and clash royale just for an half an hour, the update of firmware in this phone make the battery weaker and weaker by the time. I just bought this phone for 1 month as second driver

You maybe Samsung, Apple or Xiaomi fanboys who try to contaminated this phone reputations. For your acknowledgement I throw my Samsung A6+ and Xiaomi Mi Max 2 phone to dustbin after I bought this phone because believe both phone are trash.

First make sure the Asus Zenfone Max M1 battery is sufficient.
Turn off Asus Zenfone Max M1.
Press and hold the Volume Down + Power button. after the android logo appears release the power button and keep press / hold down the volume button until the recovery mode appears.

Anonymous, 08 Jan 2019i got this asus max pro m1 from my bro. being a battery ce... moredelete wipe data cache partition and also when you play pubg switch on battery saver mode and increase the brightness to 75% ( i prefer 60% ) . the battery backup is not as good as it used to be before any updates, but its not that bad either, its giving a backup like 4010mah battery

Never go by reviews and marketing hype. ASUS is a company which is totally blind to user feed back and sells crap by creating hype. I bought Zenfone Max Pro M1 last September after reading the reviews but to my dismay discovered that the phone does not support even the basic features available in all of the much more cheaper phones also. For Example:
1. Operator video calls - not available - initially there was a workaround but the foolish company disabled even that in the subsequent update in November 2018 - so instead to providing functionality it disabled the one which was available - though after some tweaking. No updates and no promises from ASUS after that. They force you to use DUO - for video calling - but it uses data and the called party must also be using duo - else u cannot make video calls.
2. The dumb phone does not support multiple user profiles on phone - although it is a standard feature of stock android after Lollypop version.
3. It has dual sim dual standby dual volte - but does not have a simple thing like dual ring tones for dual sims - such a basic feature.
The list can go on and on - but the dumb company is neither listening nor providing any solutions. On the contrary it is making the phone dumber and dumber - - may be useful only for simple vanilla voice calling.
Why spend so much for such a useless piece of equipment? I have dumped the phone as well as the branch - for ever - to where it belongs - the dustbin.

i got this asus max pro m1 from my bro.
being a battery centric phone(5000 mah) but battery performace is very poor.
from 100 to 5% it just giving 5 hours screen on time for 20 hours use.
for PUBG with lowest settings and low brightness it drops 10% for 30 minutes play.
i dont know what is the problem with the device.
please tell me solution guys?

Bought this to play games and it did not disappoint!
This is just my secondary phone, battery is very good but charging time to full is 2 hours, but at 80% you could get 4 to 5 hours Screen-on time..
Display is great!
Camera is meh, UI is meh but it covers the basics
Speaker is loud with ok quality - distorts at full
Good in-hand feel
Not a fan of stock Android or at least the one installed in this phone

Or maybe it is just problem with that model, you can still go to the store where you bought it and change it.
