Anonymous, 09 Nov 2018Hi, How to fix 100celsius pa_therm0 ?result appear on cpu-... moreDon't concern yourself with that. I installed CPU-Z just to see and yes mine too says 101°c. On further investigation I found it "may" be related to power amplification, though that isn't certain. Fact is, all devices across the board generally report between 85 and 105°c so definitely don't lose sleep over it

Stan, 09 Nov 2018With Xiaomi phone you also will get frustrated because when... moreIt really depend too.
For new phone, ASUS very fast to react, but after one year, their pace of update will be slow, as they will focus on newer release phone. I don't know if this Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be same fate as it's predecessor.
Xiaomi are known for their UI bugs, typically they fix yearly with new MIUI version. For Redmi series, they at least will update one time for Android version, and several time for MIUI version.
I would say choosing both of these budget phone won't has much issue, unless you are really sensitive about the updates, then goes with the more expensive one, but from day to day usage, it doesn't affect much even if it is not updated.

Anonymous, 09 Nov 2018Successor RN 6 on market already,
so comparison of prices... moreThat is what I say Pros and Cons.
ASUS doesn't has it's own fast charge, in ZF2, it is Qualcomm QC2.0, tested and verified with QC2.0 and QC3.0 charger.
This Zenfone Max Pro support the normal charging, not the QC version, typical at 5V/1A. There are speculation say normal charge will extend battery life time, then the QC fast charge only fast charge at certain percentage of battery, and will slow down around 70%

AnonM, 09 Nov 2018I would say both has pros and cons. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 no... moreWith Xiaomi phone you also will get frustrated because when you get bugs in updates it will not solves in short period but its take months or maybe a year to get rid of its and your phone potentials will be damaged at the same time. Xiaomi makes too many phone in a year and their Operating System User Interface are very heavily customised so their software developer team or staff maybe cannot catch up. Redmi phone will not get a monthly update but in 2-3 month (no up to date security patch) and it always comes with a bugs. I know this because I own and use 1 Xiaomi phone, the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 3/32. Want to knows about the bugs in almost all Xiaomi's especially the Redmi phone U get read it many tech forum even at Xiaomi owns tech forum. Because of the bug in Redmi Note 3 still not settle after a year I decide to buy Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Yes this phone also have a bugs in the update but Asus solves its in short period of time compare to Redmi's updates bugs take very long period to be settle or maybe not solves at all.

AnonM, 09 Nov 2018I would say both has pros and cons.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 no... moreSuccessor RN 6 on market already,
so comparison of prices is pointless.
Redmi Note 5 supports QC2.0 only as far as i know
and charges its smaller battery not much faster,
than MPM 1 with its 'fast charge' that 5000 mAh one.
ASUS has its own version of fast charging, even implemented
earlier in ZF 2 already.
That triple slot is very important for most of us,
with dual VoLTE support, that's not so common,
even in more expensive phones.
and don't forget to mention, that ZF MPM 1 has better display,
than that more expensive POCO!

Pasarireng, 30 Oct 2018Yes Definitely.
About the SOT : 1 hour more battery juic... moreI would say both has pros and cons.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 now has price dropped, and it is actually slightly cheaper or comparable pricing at my region.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 I would considered as all rounder, support QC3.0, and also 5Ghz WiFi, 4000mah which is quite big enough.
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 I would considered more for hardcore user for it's 5000mah battery, triple independent card slot as this is important to some, then pure Android experience for purist and make them no reason to condemn a phone UI. It is the cheapest pure Android experience you can get, and still pack a reasonable powerful SD636.
For normal user, I would recommend Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, that is more than enough and even the 32GB version, you get better camera compared to 32GB version of Zenfone Max Pro M1.
At 64GB version, then yes, both are considerable and depend what you really needs.
Both Xiaomi and ASUS are good brand at cheap price and I respect both, I use both now with ASUS Zenfone 5z and Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2018"Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Dual SIM TD-LTE APAC Version B ZB6... moreThat site is wrong. Telstra uses more than 3 4g frequencies
https://oztowers.com.au/Bands
click on telstra and it shows 6 bands.
Band 28 700Mhz which is 4gx and used in country and fringe areas is not supported by this phone.
Where it is on most other Asus phones.
odd they limited the bands on a "Pro" phone versus plus even.
o and this is 601 anyway
"
Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Dual SIM TD-LTE IN ZB601KL 64GB is compatible with 6 out of 7 bands on Telstra (Australia). See the tables below for details.
