don't mix that
ZE... = midrange
ZB... = budget ......... you know
even if Zenfone Max Pro (M1) offers midrange performance on budget . . .

announced in January on CES.

and 10W is already "fast charging"
that is also supported by the MPM1
and charging "FASTER" than the Redmi Note 5 Pro

if you need that quicker or better more juice, you should buy a powerbank.

anto987123, 29 Nov 2018I said almost none. Micro-USB fast chargers are very rare, ... moreIt is not rare, smartphone from year 2015, and some from year 2016 do support Qualcomm QC with Micro USB port.
Just that at that time, it not widely announced which phone support and many doesn't ship with fast charger adapter as well. The most famous one is Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, that support 18W QC2.0, but with Micro USB port.
The most recent phone with Micro USB that support Qualcomm QC3.0 are Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI, just that these phones doesn't ship with QC adapter.

HACKS, 29 Nov 2018Well, that is just typical misconception.
Micro USB do sup... moreI said almost none. Micro-USB fast chargers are very rare, as far as I know. The only one I've seen is Infinix Note 5. I'm also aware that Type C doesn't automatically means quick charging.
I didn't know that fact about Oppo VOOC. Thanks for that info!

anto987123, 29 Nov 2018Type C is reversible. It also has support for quick chargin... moreWell, that is just typical misconception.
Micro USB do support quick charge, charge as fast as type C.
Qualcomm Quick Charge and Huawei Fast Charge works with any Micro USB cable regardless of brand, even the first OPPO VOOC is also Micro USB, and charge as fast as the current VOOC and Dash Charge.
The reason they still use Micro USB of course is cost cutting. The reason they don't use Qualcomm Quick Charge of course is also cost cutting. They need to pay extra licensing cost to Qualcomm, which increase the cost.
I only see the benefit of type C is reversible, and also the default standard for USB3.1 that can use faster transfer rate, which can also output via HDMI. But many smartphone with type C only comes version 1.0, which is just USB2.0.
All in all, moving to type C is of course better, but the cost would be higher, given that this phone is aim at budget category, but moving to type C doesn't mean has fast charging, and also doesn't mean fast transfer rate as well.

HACKS, 29 Nov 2018What is the real benefit of having type C? Type C is reversible. It also has support for quick charging. There are no downsides whatsoever to Micro-USB, except obviously that we should LOOK at the port and plug the charger and that almost none supports quick charging.

3,5mm jack? yessssssss
this is sooo close to my ideal price and spec. crazy battery, decent SoC, highly improved camera, nicely built, decent screen. if only they got hifi dac+amp like LG on about $325-350 would be versatile all in one device. this i believe would be $300 or lower

fanboyzzz, 26 Nov 2018no nfc???NFC is already optional in MPM1 (ZB602KL)
also available in some markets or versions.
Taiwan, Russia and some EU regions have got it.
Sales-people in markets decide about it.
I think it will be the same for MPM2.
. . . but you can always suggest things on ASUS's ZenTalk forum.
