The Zenfone lineup isn't going anywhere, Asus says

Yesterday, a report by the Taiwanese media claimed Asus is discontinuing the Zenfone smartphone series and will move its employees to the ROG Phone department as a part of its organizational restructuring. However, the brand has released a press statement refuting those claims, saying the report "is not true."

Asus was also said to cut down the number of employees in its PC departments in China and Taiwan. While Asus hasn't commented about lay-offs in the PC department, the brand assured that its Zenfone and ROG Phone product lineups will not be discontinued.

"We would like to address the rumor that Asus Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the Asus Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. Asus has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups," said Asus in its official press statement.

The earnings call mentioned actually reveals that Asus planned for the restructuring back in June after its financial report indicated its first quarterly loss in over four years.
