Buy this phone at your own peril. First thing you do is install the back-up/restore program, and also copy program to card. The battery life will require you to do the restore often. The battery sucks and in my opinion, I have used a lot of PDA phones and this one has to be the worst. Form Factor is ok, but the battery life kills you instantly. I have restore my back-up no less than 3 times a week.

Skype Software? Im not sure what that is is that the Speech Recongiztion program? Well anyways if it is I would just like to add that the Speech recongiztion button located on the left side of the space bar is such a great tool and works great. It can understand you well and can hear it well. Ask the computer to start up a program call someone add a note, etc, its such a great tool.

Agreed that the Battery life really sucks. I have been in touch with the BenQ office in Singapore, and they tell me that the new Firmware version (available on the web by end of this month), will take care of the problem Lets keep our fingers crossed!!!

I was a Nokia user, and the function of sending Business Cards was great. With the P50, there is no such option. I understand some softwares are now available??? Kindly advise.

I agree that an alternative battery needs to be released. You guys are absolutely correct, the battery needs charging just about everyday especially if you take full advantage of the features such as videocamera and such. However, I would like to disagree with "sms" claiming that this is one of the last big PDA phones. This is actually one of the smaller PDA Phones with a keyboard built and a camcorder. The size is fine and it is actually pretty light for the features it holds. I agree with you that the new Mobile edition should've been released, however it's not hard to update once the new one comes out to everyone next month (October.)

My only problem was this phone is indeed the battery life. I used it all day once and then I recharged it for several hours and it still wouldn't turn on. I was getting scared so i sent it back, they tested it and said that the battery needs at least 12 hours of re-charging. I just hope they'll released a bigger battery soon.

Generally good phone. Problem is the battery. It will drain quite quickly even when idle. Functions rich but battery life cannot support usage. try making some phone call and wi-fi, battery will drain quickly. user interface the usual windows. still cannot edit number in the phone dial screen. sign....

Compact phone with good phone reception. Camera - significantly better than Treo 600 and O2 IIs - with 640x480 Vga and 1280x960 SXGA settings. Also camera lights in dark places. Bluetooth reception very good and can easily connet with handfree sets and even laptop for transfer of data. Qwerty key board fairly accurate on the key strokes-as good as the Treo Products. SD card slot sometime not very sensitive. Its included Remocom- A Remote control application -can easily control most eletronics but some older model philips tv may not response to its signals. Still exploring the phone got it at Funan it Mall - Southeast Asian Computer Shop 2 weeks ago. Also available at the Benq- outlet there.
