Is anyone having problems with the power button? I have had my P50 for about 9 months, and now the bleeder won't power up.
Any idea's?

The firmware flashing method involves releasing the hold slider,taking out the battery,put back battery,slide back the hold,pressing the record,poking the reset hole underneath and the power-on button. All these have to be done "AFTER YOU'VE BACKUP YOUR FILES,CONTACTS ETC". Upon the sign "USB CONNECTED", only then you need to click on ok or continue to update all GPRS CODE and OS Kernel.

On previous firmwares,when battery is weak,I did lose my contacts and mails everytime.It is recommended to do full backup to .STG into your pc.Thereby restoration will be proper.Battery consumption is faster so I charge everyday.On approaching phone coverage,the phone sometimes turn on by itself on 1.12. Ver 1.15 and 1.18 are non-official classified firmwares which I believe after several search on the futile distribution sites.

There is Firmware 1.14. It exists from Taiwan. However, as of date, the website is temporary under maintainance. However, I am able to download thru' the hyperlink and update from 1.12 official English to 1.14 Traditional Chinese.

Hi all,
I need to get the latest ROM update patch for BenQ P50. I try hardly to find it and I even contacted the BenQ support. But no response yet.

And, does any1 have such experience with call through p50 that when a call is coming, phone is not ringing or giving indication but the caller is hearing the ringing tone from other end... any idea to resolve this? i cant use my p50 for this reason...

Who needs better battery for BenQ P50? I guess everybody who has this PPC. I just bought 2600 mAh battery from www.batteryupgrade.com and it is great. This one is bigger than original battery. Same size replacement is 1800 mAh. I tried bigger one and it goes around 4 days! Have a look if you are interested.

I have upgraded my fone to 1.12 (EN) firmware and the others device can't find my decvie using bluetooth. Will I be downgrade to original version or any1 can't help me to down newer version. Thanks very much.

Hi All, I had bought on P50 1 yr back, couldn't countinue using bcos of 2 critical prob with p50.. 1) some incoming calls do not terminate (p50 wont ring though the caller will b hearing the beep of ringing from that end), 2) battery loses life too fast.
Any solution for 1, can any1 guide how to buy battery?

I thin the reason it doesn't turn on sometimes is the the type of charger you use. I just used a SMT5600 charger I got with Cingular for the first time and it would turn on.

Actually you have to hit the soft reset button and it should be good to go. Stil though very buggy.

Hey sickhead I'm having the same issue actually today. Orange light and no turn on... This phone is really buggy. WE NEED THE ENGLISH 1.15 ROM.
