Bittium Tough Mobile 2 is "the world's most secure smartphone"

Bittium is a Finnish company with over 30 years of experience in advanced radio communication technologies and biosignal processing, creating products for tactical communications, providing mobile devices and cyber security solutions certified for use by troops on battlefields. And today it's unveiled its latest smartphone, the Bittium Tough Mobile 2.

The company says this is no less than "the world's most secure smartphone", suitable for both professional and personal use. It has a "multilayered security structure", based on the hardened Android 9 Pie OS, with information security features and software integrated into the source code. This ensures that both the data stored in the device and data transfers are protected as effectively as possible.

It comes with several encryption, authentication, and key management related features, boot and runtime security checks, a tamper-proof information security platform, and a privacy mode. The latter disables microphones, cameras, and Bluetooth, and reduces the accuracy of sensors, with just a touch of a button. The Tough Mobile 2 is compatible with the Bittium Secure Suite software, which enables remote management of the phones and their encrypted data transfers.

The component and software solutions of the phone can be audited for use by authorities, and certified for the secure use of government officials. Bittium promises "better availability of security updates compared to conventional smartphones". The handset supports use of several isolated and secure workspaces, which let users easily and securely handle confidential data of even multiple different organizations, as well as their personal data and social media applications.

The Bittium Tough Mobile 2 has a 5.2" Full HD "sunlight readable" touchscreen, which works with gloves and while it's wet, the Snapdragon 670 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of eMMC storage expandable via mciroSD, a 12 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front-facing shooter, dual front-facing speakers, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC, It's IP67 certified for water and dust resistance, as well as MIL-STD-810G compliant for shock and drop resistance. It has dual-SIM functionality, a 3,000 mAh battry, as well as dedicated buttons for Privacy mode, Emergency, and push-to-talk.

The device is now up for pre-order on Bittium's website for €1,550 including VAT.

I am waiting for new answer from their customer service. They answered me a couple years ago and at least they mentioned that without Google-servises or Apps, instalizing a new Apps, an APK-files can be used, but some of Apps that requires Google...

It runs Android 9. Many security features mentioned in their website, you need to pay for or subscribe (1200 EUR/Year)!. They offer Google-less version as well. I can not understand why they sell such expensive phone, and make basic features not func...
