re: jb8j's question about the 8700G, i think thats a cdma/ev-do7 cellphone, they don't have a SIM card slot. you need to get a sim card reader and transfer your phone book to your computer, then transfer phonebook to 8700g. computergeeks had one for like 5 bucks (sim card reader)

This comment is for the BB8700g. To transfer ringtones, pics, e.t.c to your device. First you must go to the Media option in the program list and select it. You should see the available folders there. Push the track wheel in and scrool down until you see "Recieve Using Bluetooth" you bluetooth would then be activated. Activate the bluetooth on the other device, pair it with your blackberry and you should be good.(when sending the file from the other bluetooth device your BB would ask to select a location to save the file)

Hmmm... I love this blackberry... I too have an 8700g, that I had purchased from my old boss... but now I have a problem... although this is a great phone, the trackwheel on my blackberry no longer pushes in to select an option... thus disabling my ability to send text msgs or even emails from it... this really bothers me... There doesn't seem to be anyone I know of that can fix the blackberry... and since I bought it off my old boss, I don't think he has the original receipt for it still... would RIM be able to check when this was first activated via IMEI / PIN ??? or am I just going to have to buy another one???

There is no such thing as the ultimate phone. with that aside lets be reasonable when looking at the 8700. I have mine with T-Mobile (8700g). I have had most of the most recent communicators and there is not really much wrong with them. Here are some of the strngths of the 8700. The toggle wheel and menu are its big strength and this gives it the edge above the rest. I was dead set against the BlackBerry, I suppose like I was dead set again MAC until I tried it out. The Blackberry is superb and I have no hesitation is stating that thus far the very best communication tool around. I now know why it has been the choice by many. I have roamed in Europe/China/Africa and getting my mail 24/7 has been incredible. The t-mobile BB package for roaming has been great. For the serious traveller this is a MUST OPTION!

I love this phone. its everything you could ever want. just needs a camera and a card slot, media player etc. The pearl is too small for me. I like the QWERTY keyboard. 9/10. Now that i have a blackberry and friends on the berry messenger, i couldnt go back to a reg phone!

Remember to keep your old phone for the weekends!! Big big to carry absolutely everywhere but with your old phone solves that problem straight away. I think thats why big phones get a bad rap because people solely use the big one but its not that big and i have a belt clip for it!!!

So far so good, i use it as a work phone and having mobile emails accessable from anywhere anytime of the day takes the stress of going back to the office.

I have just got the Blackberry 8700g, it is a cool phone.
-Push Pull email is fanstatic- makes u very mobile on the field.
-Bluetooth only syn with handsfree kit, but cannot transfer file via bluetooth from other phone.
-The only way to receive the pictures is through MMS or email.
-No camera funstionality makes job on the remote area not so flexible. So, you have to take a picture with another phone and then MMS the photo to the blackberry. After that you can forward the pictures to whatever destination via MMS through the blackberry either phone number or email.
One big problem, you cannot compose a new email with attach file(pics or document).
You can only forward an email with attachment.
The games in the blackberry is fanstatic but only limitation in some games , too independ with the roller wheel on the side, makes hand tired if play long.
-Pictures display is good resolution.
-Use as a phone is superb.
If someone has solution on the attachment of file or pictures with 3 rd party software, please advise.
I am thinking to change back to a normal GPRS or 3G phone with camera if a solution is not found on the attachment issue.
Happy Berry berry to all users.
Jack
