They need to have some better clarity on the GPS feature as there are a huge number of inconsistencies on that feature from what ive read on the net ... not to mention a lack of Australian maps ... but they didnt forget Moldova and other obscure little euro countries ?!?!

only thing left for BlackBerry to do with the next model they release of the 8800 series is to include "HSDPA 3.6 Mbps" capability ... besides that one shortfall, this phone is as close to perfection as i've ever seen.

I agree with Black Berry 8830 user! But adding UMTS/HSDPA won't harm anyone.

There are two types of BlackBerries: the first is strictly for the suits who aren't allowed to have camera's on their phones for security reasons mentioned already (ex. BlackBerry 8800 series), the second are for students or those who run a small/personal business like a wedding designer where a camera would be useful and convinient. (BlackBerry Curve). The way people rate phones is ridiculous. Just because it doesn't meet your needs, you don't rate it bad. Those who rate phones low (such as this one) are those who are avg. joe's who have to buy the phone and pay for data and are angry because it's pricey. Suits who have this don't worry because the company fully subsidizes for them so they don't incur a data fee like the rest of us. Don't try to be trendy and cheap at the same time.

i can't believe the voting results on this phone! it just shows you that people that haven't used a blackberry have no idea. i have had 3 different blackberries in the past and currently own the 8800 w/ gps. this is an awesome phone. the 8800 is the first phone that i use every feature on a daily basis. i can't say that about any phone that i've owned in the past. wifi is a great add. cameras on a phone are a joke. if thats what is keeping you from wanting this phone than the jokes on you!

a little late, but excellent phone for business. It has everything. Next upgrade can be with 16mln colours, maybe larger resolution, wlan with n support, 3g connectivity. Maybe smaller (not qwerty) bb version with wlan. Should stay without camera

I cant stress this often enough... it's a business phone and putting a camera on it would be a stupid move due to security limitations in big companies (so its no phone for your corner supermarket businessman).
These whines here are cool. Lots of shouting but no explanation why someone says a certain thing.
Argueing on the internet is just for the lose :)

Only now you're thinking of wifi and still short of camera? I expect blackberry to be in the WIFI business years ago, but no, you only concentrate on email. I always wonder why. Most of your phone models are actually good with wide/big screen and good keyboard which are good for poor sighted people like myself. I think you should start adding in the camera (stick to 3MP) for your next model then your phone will one of the the market.

No camera is a good thing, as it allows it to be brought into secure areas. As for radio, who needs it?

I agree that Blackberries don't need a camera. Unless they are 3G and come with a video-call camera (that can ONLY be used for video calls).
Some are just being drama queens though. Phone manufacturers hardly put cameras there against your will - if you don't want it don't buy it.
Phones with camera's have a better resale value and the better the camera, the more you can sell it for once you don't want your current model any longer.
The SHARP 903SH still sells for nearly US$300-400 and is almost 2 years old.

The reason why majority of Blackberry Phones do not have any camera - it's a Business phone used to comply with most COPC standards. In short, it's a GREAT BUSINESS PHONE that complies to international standards.

Camera on mobile is something that i feel totally unnecessary. To me it is something un-wanted which is imposed on me against my will. It never does the job up to the mark that I would accept as satisfactory. And I dont want to pay for something that i dont want. I feel this mobile set is on the right track.
