to get BlackBerry service as you mentioned and it's not free! Without the extra BB service your BB is an ordinary handset like others! This is what I know, Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you in advance.

duparis00, 24 Jan 2008Its my first BB and its fantastic once you get rid of AT&Ts... moreDear bb user,
I am considering to buy the BB8820. For me it is very important to be able to write short reports and summaries for example in word and or excel. Is this possible with the device or can one just read (view) these kind of documents? Tnx for your reply.

I'd stick with this blackberry rather than Nokia unless 3G speed is priority. User-Interface of BB is much friendlier and easier than Nokia. Well, at least for me. But if you're using this phone to get real-time stock quotes, Nokia is the one. Actually, Samsung Instinct(i900 Omnia would be more than beautiful) is the one you want.

I purchased this phone last week on the day iPhone 3G's sales were rolling out. In general, BB8820 just looks great: very professional and suits me well (I work in the investment area in Vietnam.) Secondly, the key board is so great (this is the first time I use BB.) The next point that I like about BB is the market share of BB in US market at the time of this writing is still some 40-41%! And the fourth and last point I like BB is it is not equipped with a camere, but instead with GPS. Thank RIM for this phone.
