You can use GSM sim card that works on 900/1800 band. In USA, all GSM are 1900 band so it will not work with any GSM sim card by USA provider. I live in Indonesia and I inserted Telkomsel sim card, it works fine. I just applied for blackberry plan with telkomsel and I have the 8830 working full feature as blackberry phone running with GSM network. Just change the mobile network option to GSM.

hello,i just purchased 8830 World Edition few days ago. and quite happy.. however, i have problem with the blackberry messenger. the icon dissapeared. however there is another icon appear on the screen "Upgrade Blackberry Messenger". any one can help me on this? it really is become quite frustratring, since the main reason i bought 8830 is for the blackberry messenger..

What do I need to do to start chatting with the blackberry messenger/browsing in this phone. I have tried to make it browse with my network provider in Nigeria but to no avail.

I have purchased this phone one month back and was very much disappointed to see no camera in it. The phone manual is also not so much illustrative and I want to know about all the features of it,like how much memory card in terms of GB can I put in it.

there is no edge, only gprs.you should edit the spesifications.
