I've been reading up on this smart phone & I'm seriously considering getting one to replace my current Nokia e61i. I usually don't like Blackberries; Alot of my friends have the 8800 series & 8200 series but the specs on this one are quite good!

the design just harks to the iphone unfortunately-blackberry could have stepped up there..however, feature-wise, it may be top notch
they could probably do better than just a 2 MP camera too

Well I have to say this is a spectacular phone I-phone killer not at all RIM does not run a over hype machine like apple. Better phone definitely it will run way faster than the I-phone. It will have a extra slot for more memory which can give it infinite capacity in the US we really don't have alot of high capacity memory, but a source from RIM told me that the 9000 will be able to support a higher than card with a simple update which will be available 8gb soon after launch you can get 16gb cards in Asian an in Europe from speciality stores when in the US is anybodies guess(we are always the slowest at adopting things)it will also support Skype which will make alot of people who use that service happy.

It seems as though higher quality materials were used, but other than that, not much change in appearances.

oh and according to crackberry.com, the screen is BIGGER than previous models (like Curve and 8800), not by a significant chunk (only 1/4 inch), but apparently there's a greater difference visually (hyped up screen res + slightly bigger display). if the 8800's display measures around 2.4" diagonally, i would safely assume that the 9000 would be at least 2.5-2.6", which is a decent size, at least in my opinion.

aswesome. i've never been much of a crackberry fan either, but from the looks of it, this is going to be my new toy.
for people comparing this to nokias and the iphone, get your heads straight. Having used multiple nokias, those so-called "multimedia computers" are slow like a toad. they might have a powerhouse of functions, but what good is that when there isn't a fast enough processor to work out the magic? i.e. do you see them sporting 624 mhz processors?
and for the iphone, despite the fact that people have been labeling the 9000 as the "iphone killer", keep in mind that these two phones are still targeting two distinct, but not necessarily separate markets - business vs. multimedia/entertainment (i wouldn't go as far as to calling the iphone a "smartphone").
in the meantime, reviews are already pouring in, so check them out in the link below:

Would have been the best one if it was touch screen :(. Cam is ok, dont need that big of MP if you will not print a tarpaulin out of it.
