Dnilra, 11 Mar 2010Thanks for your timeHi, I don't know if you've found anything yet, but on Crackberry.com I found a thread in the forums about Facebook 4.6. If you need it. I'm not sure if its stable, it should be. And for email you can use Shangmail or something like that.

Dnilra, 11 Mar 2010Thnx for re-phrasing my question :) I hope I get an answerI understood your question and as I said before, push email services are BIS dependant and if you don't have it in your area then you might only be able to use a data plan for browsing. For Facebook you might need to use the mobile site and search for an app that allows you to set up email. There might be another way, but you need to ask someone in you area that can give a more precise answer, like your carrier or a friend.

Maybe you didn't quite get Dnilra's question.
Maybe he lives in third World country and there is no BIS or BES there.
They strictly use GSM network and he wants to use Facebook or download Free Apps from Blackberry App World via WiFi?
Question is: Is that possible? If yes, then how?
Hope this helps.

Dnilra, 09 Mar 2010Thnx for fast reply ;) ...sorry to bother you but where ... morePush email is with BIS, which is a Blackberry data plan.I don't see it as an extra fee, because for push email you need a data plan regardless of the brand of phone you use. The difference would be that BB's aren't fully usuable without BIS so you would need a BB data plan and not the regular data plans. Check with your carrier. And if you can find a FB app of an older version like 4.6 then it should work with wifi, since the older versions worked with wifi.

Dnilra, 09 Mar 2010Just got BBB9000 and Im trying to install aplications like ... moreNo, the newer Facebook app and push email are run through RIM's servers, thus needing BIS. You can get pull email by using and app for emails, and Facebook and other sites, or internet in general, can be accessed via wifi.

Just got BBB9000 and Im trying to install aplications like for ex. Facebook, Gmail... wich is OK but the question is, are there any configurations that I have to change, so these apps can use only WiFi connection to access internet?

Adit, 08 Mar 2010But how about curve 8900? Better or same like bold 9000?Well, the curve 8900 has 2 advantages over the bold 9000: application memory (same as 9700 and 8520, around 120mb) and a 3.2 autofocus camera. The screens are about the same resolution, a few pixels off. But the bold has 3G which is faster than EDGE. I'm guessing the keypads are up to each of us to decide which is better, I really like the 9000's keypad.

Hi all
I currently have a BB Storm 9500 and its now time for my upgrade. I was thinking about getting the BB Bold 9000.
Do you think this is a worthy upgrade or should i consider the BB Bold 9700?
