whats the difference between this blackberry bold 9650 and the blackberry bold 9700? they look pretty similar apart from the keyboard...? thanks in advance :)

well,i dont actually u/stand about what this CDMA thing means or functions..i dont have any idea about that..but after i read the comment from JRF, i now think that i u/stand what this CDMA is all about..
So folks,if ur country doest not support this CDMA thing,dont worry coz u will still get the EDGE which is 2.75G..still considered awesome..near the 3G connection..
Many people do not know what is actually between EDGE or 3G..all they know that if the smartphone doesnt has the 3G,its considered as 'low class'..come on man it just matter of data speed..yes,i agreed that 3G is more faster but do u realize it SUCKS ur battery too fast..so,to save the battery,many of people that i know (including me) to turn off the 3G while surfing to the internet and using EDGE..although EDGE is quite slow but it seems more helpful compared to 3G..like my other fone (BB gemini),which is using EDGE..the speeds is quite awesome..i dont have any probs with that..so,whether the fone using 3G or EDGE or even 4G to me the processor of the fone is more important..if the processor is higher than the chances to load the page is more faster..

guys i can't wait to lay my hands on my 9650 , i'm getting for my birthday . It's arriving in South Africa from the Uk on the 6th of August. Someone tell me what edge does it have over the 9700?

M, 28 Jul 2010I do not understand this CDMA...I want to purchase this pho... moreThis phone runs on CDMA 3G for Sprint and Verizon, which means it doesn't use a SIM card. But, it does have GSM capabilities which is when you use a SIM card. The SIM will run on EDGE in most places since it only supports the 2100mhz network, which I believe is European?? Not sure. In the Carribean, it depends on your carrier. If your current phone is a GSM phone (SIM card) then you'll be able to use it on EDGE. In this case, if you want a 3G phone, get the 9700. If EDGE isn't a problem for you, get this one since it will be recieving the newest OS, Blackberry 6.

To abby, 18 Jul 2010id pick the blackberry vivaz is oldd now nd doesent have 3g... morethe vivaz is newer than the 8900 and it is 3G capable while the 8900 is EDGE. but, i would also go for the 8900.
