So, I just got the 9700 last night and well I am a experienced BB user, I have found this new device to be a excellent build. The hardware quality is very good, the track pad excellent, 3G strong, and all features work right out of the box. Phone Calls sound loud and clear.

covered buttons protect from dirt and moisture, truly a excellent phone.

Original_Jamaican, 06 Nov 2009To MOMON? I don't like to give trouble in other forums b... moreit seems that you guy knows quite a lot about every ins and outs of NOKIA Eserise products. though it can't compete with BB product and service at all. what i see that the smartphone users are in two catagories ....

            1. Entertainment -> Apple leads the industry with iphone
            2. Enterprise -> RIM leads the industry with Blackberry

and rest are between these two. NOKIA Nserise, Nokia Eserise, Palm, HTC, Samsung, etc ... still fighting to get a ground to stand strongly in the market. NOKIA had 65 to 70% smart phone market share just 3 year before .. now they really in trouble as their OS is out to date ... Sorry for NOKIA. I guess with next 2 to 3 years many players will be in this market and we would have a exciting game. as end user we will be benifited as we will get the leading edge product from different companies.

            Cheers !

momon, 24 Oct 2009Nokia is the best.. wat's gud about bb? only the BB messen... moreTo MOMON?

I don't like to give trouble in other forums but I have to agree with you that Nokia is the best. The E-Series trumps all other business phones...Blackberry included.

I have a E51 and we all know the E71 is basically the same with a qwerty instead so I speak for both E51 and E71.

I have a E51 and it easily beats any Blackberry. I have test Blackberrys and they don't come close to Nokia E-Series which is also corporate level high end enterprise solution like Blackberrys.

E-Series does a whole lot which Blackberry cannot do...like backup entire phone memory to memory card which include contacts, text messages, notes, Calendar appointments, phone settings etc. and it can be restored at will. Mine can make calls over the internet, both VOIP and SIP. I can make MSN and Skype calls and other IM calls. I can upload my contacts to a backup server and a whole lot more. I can't list all the features here. I can even do all these without a SIM card even being in my phone. I use Wi-Fi to do all these, FREE internet access. I can even print e-mails, text messages, notes etc. over Wi-Fi, bluetooth and more. The print feature works flawlessy. I easily print to a LAN HP printer at my office...no cables, nothing whatsoever but wireless communication. Somebody tell me which Blackberry can do all that ?

Just thought I would mention a few more goodies. My Nokia Enterprise can also be accessed via a computer wireslessly. I can use my computer to access my phone's memory card OR internal memory without a data cable or with a data cable. I can also use my voice to compose an e-mail, text message etc.

With all these capabilities at my disposal why should I waste money buying a Blackberry ? I'm glad I don't have one.

nik, 03 Nov 2009presently using nokia e90.Very satisfied but now feel like ... moreTo NIK:

Are you out of your mind ? Nobody in their right mind would give up a E90 for this BlackBerry 9700. The E90 still values a whole lot more than this.

BlackBerry Bold 9700, Does it have a surrounding noise reduction system?

Compare to talking in a noisy enviroment with Voice clarity of Nokia or Crystal Talk of Motorola, does BlackBerry perform better sound quality than those?

callum, 05 Nov 2009Actually i am writing from Hungary and waiting for T-mobile... moreI love the phone! I still have the Bold 9000. I can tell you having double the RAM and the trackpad makes the upgrade well worth it. The UI is much faster thsn the 9000. I love the size of it. The build quality is better than the 9000. The camera has autofocus so that's a bonus! I highly recommend it. I hope you guys get it soon.
