why is there no touch screen on this model., also limited colours white and black only

I had before BB Curve, after it BB Bold 9000 and now, 2 weeks ago i upgraded to BB 9780. Everythink is ok on this new phone but few thinks that are bothering me:
1. First is the search inside text messages. I hate the 4 steps i make to search a message. I mention that i send/receive around 100 sms/day
2. The animated menu! Wow i hate this. I loose precious time waitint that damn second for every look into menu. Can i disable animations? I guess not. I hate BB OS6.
3. Trackpad is a stupidity. I want my BB Bold 9000 back with his roll. It was much quicker and better.
4. How the hell do i separete text messages? I dont like it the way they are COMBINED! I want them one by one just like in BB Bold 9000.
My question is not why they changed these things but why didn't they let me choose whitch OPTION i like for my phone. Is very little customizable. It would have been a great phone but these 4 problems are very important for me.

I am 100% agree with you I purchase last week BB9780. But its service is too much expensive and on wifi its application not working I also advise all my friends who want to purchase BlackBerry is not good for average income peoples from BlackBerry IPhone and HTC is very good because its all applications working on wifi

HI everyone..i had this phone for a week, everything working great.i started transferring music and videos to it. i noticed one thing and it bothers me a lot.music player doesnt act correctly, once i start playing a song, it cant go to the next or the previous song.even if i pause or stop it its the same.i will stuck at times.what should i do?thanks ...

I had this phone for over 3 moths. Previously I had a Sony Ericsson and then a Nokia and after another SE and my last one was Nokia 7250i that did not let me down more than 10 years(only he battery died in the last year but an awesome phone). I don't know for what reason I switched to blackberry but that was the most expensive mistake I have ever done in my life.
The phone freezes very often and I don't have a good connection o the operator. Don't tell me that is the operator's fault. A friend has Nokia 5800 and it never loses connection, always full bars with the same operator.
Connectivity:
If you want this phone, expect to be thrown constantly between edge, 3G and SOS even if you are in an area where you are 100% sure you have a good coverage.
Wifi:
I don't have a plan and I won't use one because it is really expensive. REALLY EXPENSIVE! Thus, you understand that I rely mostly on WiFi. I had to download "logic mail" because the integrated mail services require a plan (this is big BS if you ask me).
Be prepared your browser to kick you out although there is only one tab open. As for downloading apps, get yourself a bucket of nerves during the installations, a full pocket of money and to be kicked out of the the app store for no reason. The app store is deserted with online turn games (make sure to check the store before you buy) and other that are ridiculously childish. For the "best games" you have to pay...
Call quality:
The call quality is good. Probably that is the best thing on the phone.
Camera:
The camera is not something with which you can brag but the pictures are fine.
The keyboard:
It is kind of annoying that you have to hold the ALT button to type the numbers that are in the same part where the ALT button is. So, having needles for fingers would quite solve the issue of thumbs going oe another.
The screen:
At moments it looks like 24 bits which is odd.
Battery life:
I recharge it twice a week for not being able to use it. LAME
Calendars, mails and SMS:
as I said, you must have lots of luck getting a connection first and then using the services. I dislike using only 1 calendar and being forced to use Outlook to sync my events (I am aware of the sync with google calendars but that is just laughable- using 3rd party soft because ur cell phone can't do it)
GPS:
Can't make it work, because it requires online data for some stupid reason.
Overall:
I do not recommend this device to anyone. It is useless for anyone without an expensive data plan.
I am currently deciding to go back to Nokia and get their E6 or wait until iPhone 4GS/5 or the Nokia Windows phone 7.

Bold 9780 is the best among other blackberry phones,because it as a specially defined functions that makes it look different from others.

Hi All.
This is my 4th blackberry, 2nd 9780. I have endless network problems on the 9780. Many times when people phone me, they cannot get through, even when reception is full! Is this a common problem? Is the Bold9780 or Iphone 4 16gb better! Please assist!!!

I have used javelin this is stronger and faster.user friendly and has strong battery back up - ideal for corporate user,has good applications - 5Mp camera is decent....U can go for it.

Lady gaga is always senn using BB bold they are fantastic devices but if you dont like then go buy something else,nobody is forcing you to have one..

I dnt know wat people are geting in blackberry,d phone is the worst,i think poeple are makin the wrong choice,d phn is nt presentable,buy a normal nokia phn smtin lyk nokia x2o-1 and enjoy ur life,i hate it!! I hate!!!
