disappointed, 21 Dec 2012i had the 9800 torch but when it was time to upgrade i got ... moreU ought to have know so well that 9800 is superior that 9780...it is just so silly so to use this word that we naija rate blackberry according to how they came into the market...so pls there is noting like bold2,bold3,bold4 and so on...rate it in accordance of the series,,9700,9780,9790...okay,,,,so next time u try to be careful and upgrade to 9810 or 9900,,,since u said u have used 9800....lol

i had the 9800 torch but when it was time to upgrade i got the 9790 bold as the torch was discontinued. i was told that this phone is the closest to the torch. what a dissapointment. it feels more like a downgrade. after 4 weeks the phone is permanently on charge as the battery drains in no time. it gets so hot. really really disapointed and the chances that this is my last bb is very high!

A horrible phone! It was fine when I first bought it but after a few months it showed it's true colors. Randomly just resets almost 10 times a day and now I'm having an issue that it can't read my sim card giving the initialization error. Wouldn't advise anyone to buy this phone.

Got the Bold 9790 for two weeks now, very good phone to own, blackberry fan,brilliant touch screen good battery life, great camera, great sound from the speakers, great keypad, great internet speeds hahaha what more do you need.

Blackberry must include in the release of there Blackberry 10, Ease of Texting specially when you are driving, meaning you do not have to type long text they should have short cuts like in Iphone one press only of the botton and its a complete message already.....

theblackberry , 10 Dec 2012hi i had a 9300 for a while but the camera broke so now i w... morethe 9790 battery was ok until the 7.1 upgrade . new upgrade uses up battery much faster even with the battery save option activated . no option to just use 2G either.

I used bold 9780 until it developed battery problems. Sometimes, from 70% battery level, the phone will just go off when you do such thing as using the camera.
The RIM 9790 is really a smartphone to use. Long battery life, I dare say.

i was using 9300 Blackbery for 1 year 5 Months then the bettery sucks then i upgraded to 9790 what an impressive phone i have m battery can last for a day without being charged and am always using FB,BBM & WHATSAPP so i cant complain anymore.

I have had the 9790 since August and at first, it was a bit of a handful; it would often get really hot and freeze as a result. However, I did a system update and updated all of my apps and it seemed to have worked a treat. The 7.1 operating system has a system monitor which closes any apps which aren't being used and it has completely eradicated the overheating issue.
Other than that, the camera is awesome, the 3G is brilliant and the phone is uber-fast.
I have had BlackBerrys in the past and I can easily say that this phone is the best one out there as it is not too much and the functions are all excellent.
One complaint I do have, is that there is only one 'convenience key', personal preference would want one more.
Nonetheless, great job!

Vpb, 06 Dec 2012I honestly don't understand the negative comments. Sometime... moreim about to receive a bold 9790 and im unsure of it. i just upgraded from the 9780. please tell me if im making the right decision.
