Anonymous, 20 Dec 2011Not sure how you use your buttons...do you use a sledge ham... moreHence why I said in "my" experience; be all there! I know several people who suffer from the poor button quality as well; also - you're speaking as if their Torch and Storm models haven't been successful; not to mention the new touch screen Curve. RIM are versatile; that is all.

how can it state that the standby mode is 307 hours in 3g?? it cant even finish the whole without charging it again. my bold started at standby mode) 5am to 10 am(then used 10-11 am,1 hour moderate) then standby again from 11am to 3 pm(end of shift at work) then my bold had $40% or less to use for the rest of the day. my bold is on 3g so meaning my facebook, bbm, twitter, whatsapp, email app is on,browser app is on(because I cant turn it off) I do receive facebook messges and notifications, bbm alerts adn messages...and yeah thats what I noticed when I did a standby mode. it's like.. 11-12 hours of standbymode(with receiving data)..40% battery left to be used the rest of the day.

Anonymous, 20 Dec 2011Not sure how you use your buttons...do you use a sledge ham... moreLOL, which is why I said "In my experience" - common sense isn't common in this case. I know many others who've suffered from the same button problem, it's nothing new. Oh really? What about their Storm and Torch models which are doing very well? Evidently you're an obsessed RIM fan so I won't waste any more time responded to you. I have both an iPhone and Blackberry, both amazing phones. The Bold 9900 being one of the best phones I've ever had, like I said initially, the only fault I have with it is it not having touch type. This is how I feel about it; accept it and move on, or shut up.

After the disasterous failure of the BB Playbook which was a shot in their own foot, BlackBerrry has gone and committed suicide with the Bold Touch 9900 that I was unfortunate enough to pay for and buy. I have never been more disappointed with a phone, especially a BlackBerry product as I am with this. In a nutshell, battery life is terrible and drains in standby. You cannot have the battery last a whole day on standby on a complete charge. Secondly, the touch screen is also is also a conflict with the phone since you may hit the Speaker button on the screen accidentally and/or be trying to press the 'call' button and will accidentally dial the last number showing on your screen above the "call" button. Sadly, this will be my last purchase of a BlackBerry product and I will jump boat...

nokia fan, 30 Dec 2011no need to compare this bb with other brand< just make a... moreRIM downgraded the battery because in order to make the phone slimmer, something had to compensate so the battery is one thing they had to cut short and the second was the autofocus! Barring that the phone is great! In your statement, I'm only comparing with other Manufacture's because you can only compare like for like in terms of processors / screens and it would be unfair trying to compete an older model with significant battery life that doesn't do half as much. Please don't take offence as I am only trying to help and give my honest opinion! Happy new year to you too!

I really like to have this phone but a lot of comments says that the battery life is so bad that you'd have to charge it before the day ends, while in some other reviews claims that even if your a heavy user it would work just fine and has some juice left before the day ends. pls help me decide.

                                  Howdy guys

Ok, I been using my BB9900 for about a month(upgraded from the 9700). So far not a bad phone

First of the battery life is not that good, if I'm lucky i can get around a day and a half out of a full charge, and the camera with out auto focus is not that good.

But the performance is very good, the touch screen is the best I've ever used and the graphic quality is really good. It has a lot of memory and storage space plus you can buy a micro-SD card to expand that.

But the main problem for me is the battery life. I got a firmware(7.0.0.585) update about two days ago and its seems the battery is a bit better. Overall its a very nice phone and I did compare it to all the other phones out there but I like a qwerty keyboard and a touch screen and the 9900 is best of both worlds.

I have now been using the white version for 3 and a half weeks now and the phone is great. The battery life is not great but the main thing is to close all apps. Some of the apps are always open like bbm, messages etc. The others like the social networking apps(facebook, twitter), navigation apps(Google maps, blackberry maps) and any other app which is open. With data on(which uses bbm, whatsapp), phone calls, texting and brightness set at 20, my battery lasts me an easy day and a half. The brightness at 20 is more than enough. Trust me. The screen is nice, clear and vivid even at 20 percent brightness. Brightness and closing of apps can really help battery and its not noticeable. No smartphone nowadays lasts for more than 2 days. If you want games then buy a Samsung Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note or Galaxy NExus. I have Galaxy S2 which i use for games only. This is more than acceptable for a normal day to day phone including chatting and social networking. A great phone.

Anonymous, 27 Dec 2011I agree with you for the E72 that lasts you 4 days as I use... moreno need to compare this bb with other brand< just make a comparison between bold 9780 with bold 9900. Why RIM produce bold 9780 with 1500 mAH, but bold 9900 with only 1230mAH. Bold 9900 is newest than bold 9780, how come RIM downgrade on battery capacity?
