BB9900 have been hitting record no. of complaints regarding battery life...now we have P9981 with even better design but BATTERY????? The most perfect smartphone by RIM till date has been BB9780. Was it so hard for BB to carry forward its technology and make it better instead of ruining what was achieved. Whats the use of high speed processors which gives nothing extra when it comes to day to day use of BB phone. Instead what RIM has done is this...BB9780 1500 mAH battery, BB9900 1230 mAH double speed and lower power battery ( disgrace ) and guess what P9981 even lower battery with 1000 mAH ( 35% lower battery power but doubled processor speed than BB9780 ). Is there a brain drain at RIM. I rushed back and bought BB9780 as I feared RIM might stop its production sooner or later leaving us no choice but to accept bad sets like BB 9900. BB9780 is a great smartphone and I adore it in every respect. True, I lost money when I sold BB9900 but that all is past. I would forget and forgive RIM for that because atleast there is still BB9780 to enlighten me.

For those who are considering buying this phone, it's really good. I am glad I have it. I had a lot of bberry's before; storm, pearl and the torch but this is the best of them all. I have to say RIM you did a great job.
However downfall on this phone is the battery for sure. I know ppl are saying it's really bad and I agree. I charged it last night and I barely used it and it's already at 45%. I carry around my charger everywhere cause I never know when the battery is going to die on me. In comparison to my Nokia c3 which gives me 9 hours talk time and I charge that every 4 days.
If you love Bberry's this is the phone for u! If you don't, well then what are you doing on this page...go find something else :P hahahaha.

I love the looks of the 9900 bold but that's about it! What's not to like....well....Battery life is some what short....My MAIN point why I returned it was that when your in a tunnel and come back out, the phone doesn't have any signal for 30 minutes and if you want your signal back you have to switch the mobile network off and back on again! People think I'm talking jibberish but if you don't believe me next time you go on the underground etc and come back up look at your phone! You'll see! ALSO, I set my profiles assigned to different callers etc and this only works as and when it feels! Some days different rings tones as and when it decides! NOT the BB I used to know!!!!!! I'm reverting back to the 9780!!!! DO NOT buy this TRASH!!!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Apple was quick to rectify its antenna issue on iPhone4 and now its working on battery issue of 4S. But surprisingly RIM is sleeping n not bothered to rectify the battery issue of 9900. Think they dnt hav funds for R&D. No much improvement in design n features.Soon RIM will be over taken even by chinese vendors like ZTE. Sorry state of RIM.

Reverted back to 9780 besides the physical appearance and slight boost in processor speed there's nothing more to boast with 9900. Battery life is so much dissapointing. What I want with BB is the battery life, a clear no no with the 9900. Good thing there are lots of premium handsets with the same price range to choose from.

This device is a piece of trash, there's absolutely no point in combining a QWERTY keyboard with a simple touch screen. It's either a complete touch screen like othar rivals or a complete keyboard like its predecessor. The battery does't last more than 24 hours and despite having a fast processor, the phone jams allot. Os7 and the keyboard are the only positive things about the phone. I switched back to 9780.

ITS a expnsive cellphone . commonly all bb phone. minimize feature n max cost. tht wy i'll never interest to bb, it just hv one killing feature : bbm only. for the rest..nothing special

I have had the phone the time it came out, i have had it exchanged more than three times, the network has even offered to give me a different model but do not have a blackberry model at equal value. The phone has been wiped more than 5 times. Blackberry should give up there messenger and give it to someone that can run the phone properly. They clearly rushed the handset as usual and ditn check for fault. The Operating System is well over due is upgrade so fix all the bugs! My advise do not purchase this handset it really isn't that good.

This is an AMAZING phone, however mine yesterday "crashed" with a JVM 545 error, and no mattar what I just cannot get it fixed. This is very disappointing especially since I haven't used it for a month.
Another problem is that the battery just don't held up. It's fully charged at 7am when I leave my house, and by 1pm, I need to charge it!!

those who want to keep blackberry for bbm, emails, other chat apps - please go for 9360 curve. And also keep other very high spec phones like iphone 4s or even better in htc samsung or even a nokia,lg. new phones coming with extremely powerful dual core processors, graphics, new softwares, alls good. u wont be dissapointed with 9360 at all & also u can wait for upcoming 9790 which will be priced well.

Most faulted device, replaced 3 and still in the maintenance for different faults. When working, it is a good device. though bad camera (no autofocus)

Hi All, I got my new BB9900 Bold, what a great phone..congrats to RIM.i am from the old school,....Nokia all these years....and at last we have RIM.....i have read the comments on a few BB's...esp the 9900, yip the battery life not so good, but hey switch of the "unused" sources.....mmmm.....the life of the battery is longer....maybe RIM can produce a Li Polymer "long lasting" battery?????.......comeon RIM u guys have the tech..GO FOR IT and keep us updated on developments..once again....WELL DONE to RIM.......at LAST A DECENT FAST CELL.......Trevor in South Africa
