The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is a device that will appeal greatly to die hard BlackBerry fans, returning the Bold to a premium look and a size that makes a little more sense than the 9700 models.

Bold 9900 was one of the models in my consideration but price & needing the extra BIS plan, if one is not a corporate user, not nececessary.

Got this device on a 24 month contract which I don't seem to be able to afford but neverthless I'll find a way to pay it off each month. As month other person has mentioned in the his/her comments that the battery life is useles and I'm having to be extra careful more than as I was with my Curve 9300 with the battery life! Other than that everything about the phone is awesome! Couldn't want anything more from a phone! But could do with more useful mainstream apps!!!

Went to the electronic store yesterday. I took the time to check out this BB 9900. The screen & icons of this phone is definately much nicer than the 9700/9780, the camera is lousy. If you are working for a coopeate which you need to receive over 100 e-mails a day, then this phone is for you. other than that, an android phone is 100 times better in all other respect, period.

You pay Rs. 31,000 or US$800 & just get Document viewer IN 9900? I am happy with my Blackberry 8520 & do not intend to upgrade at all.

I knew there would be lots of comparisons between the Nokia E6 and this Bold Touch 9900. Afterall they are in the same class.

The only thing I will say is that I know a lot of people who have had bad experiences with Blackberrys like phone dropping and stop working overall or phone drop and camera malfunctions. I know someone personally who's Blackberry fell and ever since that the camera isn't the same. When he starts the camera, in order for the camera's viewfinder to show on the screen, he has to squeeze the side of the phone. That's truly poor build quality.

For me I stick to Nokia as they are reliable, strong and durable. Not many phones fall in water and work again...Nokia does though. Not to mention I rather the feel of steel in my hand rather than plastic so I choose Nokia E-Series over Blackberry.

GSMArena themselves have said it so many times that RIM is actually selling a service more than a phone as the phone is simply a calling device without the Blackberry Internet Service.

GSMArena said it best in this Blackberry review:

"Yep - it's a package deal or no deal at all. You either get a proper service plan or you are left with a handset that can do stuff worth about a tenth of its (admittedly high) price tag. Kinda looks like one of those scam sites where you need to buy lots of extra stuff and accessories to make your "bargain" purchase work like it should have worked in the first place."

I currently have a Nokia E71 and plan to upgrade to the Nokia E6. A phone manufacturer doesn't get NUMBER ONE because of looks or name...it achieves the number one spot for substance and that's what I have gotten from Nokia over the years.

My family members have various Bolds and I have used them various times but there are just too much quirks in the Blackberry Java based OS. The very first time I was setting up a brand new Bold 9700 the phone froze up during the wizard...come on, that's not acceptable from a brand new phone that was being used for the very first time!!!

A co-worker of mine's Bold 9000 fell and the battery cover got shaky and stayed shaky. He had to get some clips to keep it down. That same co-worker plugged his earphones in and the contacts in the sockets broke. Should that motivate me to get a Blackberry?

Poor build quality, PLASTIC, buggy OS...these things aren't acceptable in a high end corporate level smartphone. Worse of all no front camera for video-conferencing, come on...unacceptable.

I'm NOT discouraging anybody from buying a Blackberry I'm just telling you why I avoid them based on the experiences I have had and the ones Blackberry owners share with me.

All you Blackberry owners here surely cannot say I haven't pointed out facts about issues in Blackberrys.

Nokia E-Series and Symbian is the solution for me. I have always said you can't go wrong with a Nokia and up to this day that talk stands.

"In real life, the battery lasted about two days of heavy usage" -- gsmarena review.

very right, been using for a month now.

hey..i am here to cut all the rumor.. on a moderate usage day where i leave the house at 830am, my phone battery still have 20~30 percent at 11pm...

it is definitely enough for 1 day use, more than enough..

what is wrong with the ppl here comparing nokia with bb? totally different user experience and user profile... :S
