Don't get me wrong the 9900 is great but IF your phone are mainly used calls and battery is important to you then get the 9700 as this will standby for just over a week! If your going to make calls you'd even get 4-5 days out of this!! Of course that depends on how heavy your calls are!!! The 9900 will last 2 -3 days but as i've recently got this it's really hard to measure as I'm using the iphone more and the 9900 is more on standby! Battery isn't as bad what people make out to be!Good luck with your purchase!

VS, 10 Sep 2011I am considering getting this handset. It will be my first... moreIf you want a really good battery Blackberry, don't get the touch screen one... However, just for calls it will hold the 2-3 days... but for example the 9700 goes for more than a weekwith light use.

i had a blackberry 9000 bold, currently using a bold 9780. my only opinion about the battery life is a blackberry is always in your hand instead of the pocket like a nokia. It is very addictive and its not just for showing off but there's just so much to do with it.

BATTERY. Backup is very bad less than one day I charge it two times daily iam usuing BB service but battery finish very fast. Even sams s2 battery. Takes longer time to drain inspite of very large screen and dual processor strange but its a fact battery is very baddddd

it seems like BB engineers it very hard to find the technology and a way to put video call in their products, as you all know that there's no BB is supporting video call..

If you are looking for a Toyish, Playful and something you can flatter about, this phone is not for you. If you are looking for a professional, useful, smart, faster, good looking, good signal quality, Good Camera, Best Music and Video Player, you are looking for this phone. I have tried both IPhone3/4 , Android HTC/ Samsung and Nokia Symbian phones but none of those could satisfy me as i couold not get ris of a toyish feeling while holding them in hand. Specially I am not big fan of touch screens. But this phone satisfies both a Keyboard's Tactile feeling and when evern needed a touch screen with Optimal resolution quality. which is backed by a mighty muscular process and reasonablly loaded with Ram. This Phone satifies your all needes that a Pro can encounter on day to day Business. Camera Quality is one of the best in class. I am not refering to all hi fi allures now a days companies offer to sell their stuff. But if you need a good resolution camera to preserve the event and with some useful options that might help increase productivity, this phone is for you. Phone is really fast, Storng Signals, Web browser is really really fast and responsive, typing email or text is breeze with this phone.
Battery might have been issue for some fokls but i think it can be managed. First, Switch the phone from HSDPA to Edge(Use HSDPA wheneven needed and save money), Stop continuly running Apps like weather apps etc, use an App Battery Booster(free) and your Quest for relyable Battery can be satisfied.
Video and Music quality is really impressive. Last night i loaded a 168MB HD video on it and it was one of the best video experince i ever had on any phone. Same file was unable to be played on BB9780, HTC Desire and Desire Z (Android) I Phone 3.
RIM realy should pay attention on its Battery power extention regardless of considering Phone Thikness. As i said earlier, these phone are used by Pro's not teen agers and loose Pants Yo Yo dudes.

You can´t be serious if you leaving nokia for this if you want good battery time and the voice and reception signal quality.
You must be insane actually. Some people should really be questioned if they are insane.
The batterytime will kill you. Just a way to wash your maonet away the drain.

what i wanted too no is on the back of the phone is like carbon viber but i think that is is a solar panel charger if you look at the inside of the pice you will see 2 conecting points soo what i wanted too ask is is that a soler panel ornot

I am used to a battery life of 2-3 days. I mainly use a phone for calls.
I see a lot of negative comments about the battery life of this BB.
Can someone please give me fair opinion on battery life i.e.if only calls and standby are used and possibly BBM?

One thing i have foundt now ive had the bb for over 2 weeks is ..... it says it has 8gb bulit in. i got the phone thinking it be much better as can download loads off apps. But u cant, u only have a set amount of memory for apps.... only 200mb which is nothing. so bb have limit u. then give u 6.5 gb for media, but i have an 16gb memory card for this so what is the point. STUPID BB, thought they were doing well then they did this. I also got told i cant put the apps on to memory card as they wont work. WHY O WHY DID U DO THIS BB, I DONT GET IT!!!!

I work for Vodafone. next year The new blackberrys in future release will be able to use all of Android apps as BB would be combinding with android compatability. Games etc.

why has the bold gone back to the crappy fat old design? the 9780 bold looked soo much nicer..
blackberyy are slipping behind iphone and android devices unless they step their game up!
