on paper this phone should be far ahead compared to the bold 9780.. stick with a 9780 and skip this pointless generation of blackberry!
it has soo much to go wrong with it!!!
May next year, blackberry will make an even better phone, something worth changing your 9780 for.

I've now had the BB 9900 for a few days and can give my honest opinion. It's a great handset with the extra half touch screen. The apps etc aren't brilliant compared to the iphone which people do compare with! The 9900 is a different kettle of fish completely! (more business orientated). I've both iphone 4 and 9900 and both are good in their own right. I noticed many people have been complaining about the battery on 9900 but in my personal view it really isn't that bad...or at least not as bad as people say it is! The phone is slimmer making the battery 1230 mAh compared to my previous Bold 9700 at 1500 mAh or there abouts and also being 1.2 ghz it's bound to drain twice as fast! I would say though the battery would last around 2 days but then again it really is down to how much you use this! Overall I would recommend this handset and only would upgrade if an upgrade is due otherwise I wouldn't rush to get one as the price is fairly high!

I used this Bb for 10 days;:;:;:;:;: but refuse due to low battery backup :(:(:(:(:(
And no auto focus :(:( dump this phone .

momochick, 06 Sep 2011no auto-focus? really? hmm :(You dont miss the auto-focus feature that often. The camera works just perfect. The speed of capturing images has increased a lot due to absense of any delay due to auto-focus function. It's a camera enabled cellphone;but if you want a sim-enabled camera, this may not be the right choice for you.

In fact, the moment you take this phone (while on call) closer to your ears (for that matter any object in front of sensor) the touch keys buttons get deactivated. It has a wonderful wide touch screen for other useful features and applications. I have never used a Nokia phone in my life, so cant comment how E-6 or its symbian software would be.

I bought this phone about 2 weeks ago and it really works well. It is not neccesary to use the touch screen but its very handy sometimes. The only downpoint as far as my opinion goes is the battery, almost every day it doesn't last a whole day without going totaly empty

Am planning to Buy the bold (9900), but I hate the fact of the touch screen, as my sister is using the Torch & while she's talking it keeps pressing on buttons randomly. How to solve this problem???????? Is there a way to off the touch option??

The Advantage of this phone is The OS itself, You will be amazed the productivity of the new Bold, and the capacitive touch screen that responds like an iPhone I mean it's not a cheap resistive touch technology that you have to press it hard.
I was quite actually amazed of the new solution regarding of the Bold battery issue , RIM stated in it's manual that. Switch to EDGE from 3G to increase battery life and it did significantly increased from 6-8 hrs to 14 hrs of heavy constant use.
EDGE is actually 2.9G slower but efficient keep in mind the Blackberry Curve use EDGE and can perform internet produxtivity that Bold does, Speed is not important if you choose battery life over speed.
The OS is fast and really responsive.

Had mine for couple of weeks
Had a windows phone before so tooks some getting used to.
keys very easy to type with.
screen very clear & crisp.
battery is fine for 1 days use.
web browsing nice and quick
