The battery barely lasts for a day with moderate use. Yes, the camera is unimpressive. BB should recall the sets and upgarde the battery and camera.

BB 9900 does not have dual camera. There is a sensor below LED, not a secondary camera. The camera quality is inferior to that of 9780. Hope it helps.....

There would be many guys, who would love to have secondary camera on their handsets. Going forward, video calling is likely to be frequent and popular (and the tariff is also likely to fall, fueling demand). There would be many guys like me who purchase blackberry for business usage, would also like to have good camera and a secondary camera for a quick video call with your family, vendors and staff.
At this price tag, people want features so that there is a provision to avail the facility. Probably, not many people would use "mobile hotspot" given the high data tariff for this - but the company offers this feature as it's something that one customer would like to have in his handset if he is coughing out a good amount of money!
On the 3rd day with my handset, I would say that blackberry really did not put camera(s) on priority. The backside camera is also inferior. It lacks the true colour, sharpness and contrast. I think someone has already posted some stuff on net confirming my doubt (http://crackberry.com/blackberry-bold-9900-camera-comparison ).
And I am not very happy about the battery either. The shinning plastic is very prone to show scratches. Net net, I think blackberry 9780 is the best phone so far. I bought this handset for the initial craze factor, but honestly, it dies down soon when you analyze what you have spent vs. what you are getting.

From which Store did you buy this? Really a mouthwate... moreThe discount that I got was valid till 15th August. But there were couple of places, where on could discount. This was based on my price search on 13th August. You may try if the discounts is still intact.
1) On letsbuy: 1200 discount (Use the code 'icicilb')
2) Croma: 1000 discount using icici card
3) Spice hotspot: 5% discount
4) Jumbo retail: 3% discount
Unfortunatly, sellers on ebay were trying to take a premium and selling much above MRP.
Blackberry is heard to recall this model to fix up the camera. I am not sure how far this is true.

1) Camera is big concern. I feel the picture does not reflect true colour besides no auto-focus in the model. Contrast and Sharpness were not up to the mark. My ex-BB (9780) camera quality is much superior.
I think someone has already posted on crackberry to confirm my doubt. Worth sharing....

2) The back side of the phone looks cheap with a mix of rubber and shining plastic. This does not give a feeling of an expensive phone like BB9780 leather touch back side gives. Since the plastic is shinning, it starts showing minute scratches very soon. I am not very happy about it.
3) The touchscreen is good; but not that useful as most of the things can be done with trackpad. Since it has a touch screen, I am using the screen to give commands instead of trackpad. Only a few web based navigations are for the practical use. Probably, touch was my initial craze.

Craig!, 16 Aug 2011So i have a serious question to ask, how many people really... morePeople buy BB phones keeping in mind the business aspects of it.With advent in telephone technology n 3G being available in almost all countries, i feel front facing secondary Cam is a necessity as it would greatly help people for video conferencing(Business purpose) instead of using a big set up like projectors. Integrating a secondary Cam wouldn't have been too tough for RIM in its latest phones.However nothing to take away from this marvel. Best phone frm RIM in the recent past n possibly the hero to revive RIM.

great phone but worst camera. hope they do recall to fix the camera focus as apparently the camera auto focus do not work in this model.

Dnt buy both bcoz apple holds an event on 7 sep, maximum possibilities of revealing iphone5 or 4s watever they call it. And a new mobile frm bb developed on latest QNX platform s coming. So if u want touch wait and if u r a texter go for 9780 as of now.
My cousin s wrkng n BB and i gt this info frm him and bb will b abondoning os7 after this. So QNX will b their future OS like nokia did.

So i have a serious question to ask, how many people really want a front facing camera on a phone? What are you really going to use it for? Its just another waste of money and time to invest and then you would moan that its out later etc. Its just a waste of time.
When its been released have a go on it and you ill forget all about the front camera because it is a very nice piece of kit. Many of you will not believe i have used one also, but i have pictures of the prototype.
