This set is very old but the battery timing is remarkable
In some mobiles battery timing is short but its mare chance
I think bb is best as compare nokia samsung lg etc.

Beside bbm you can use this intelligent smartphone for high tech 21st century door wedge. And a long life holy battery is very good, no need to recharge it every week

its very easy to upgrade 9900 to 7.1 os. i just attached it to my pc via BlackBerry Desktop Software and there was an option to upgrade it to the os 7.1 officialy :)

Awesome battery life
I testing battery life on standby.
Started testing at 9am, and the battery life remaining at 22:30 (13hrs 30mins from start) is 90%.

The battery life of BB 9900 is just not acceptable...I have to change this every 7-8 hours, battery on my 6 year old Nokia handset lasts for 48 hours...I have very basic settings on my phone with minimal usage of internet, calls, music player and very basic settings. The company needs to take some steps to rectify the battery and call back this handset from the market. I am very disappointed with this phone's performance, didn't expect this from a blackberry phone.

azzy, 11 Apr 2012How did u upgrade to 7.1? can you pls tell me how to do it?azzy, google for blackberry OS 7.1.0.342, download and install it on your PC...save,and run install..run blackberry deskstop and you will be given the option to upgrade...
remember to delete VENDOR.xml files on your PC...run search,all files and folders,C,include all hidden files....and delete all VENDOR.xml files....clear your recycle bin too....and then you can run and upgrade your BB9900 SOFTWARE

ACIP, 12 Apr 2012How did you upgrade to 7.1 please?download blackberry OS 7.1.0.342(google for it), then save it on your computer...INSTALL, then run blackberry desktop ....you will now be given the option to upgrade....UPGRADE!!!! and believe me, your handset will run SMOOTHER...your battery will last longer than it used to....MINE DOES!!!
