Why would I need Wi-Fi on the Curve 8310 when I can access the internet through the service for which I am paying? Wouldn't Wi-Fi only be freely available at FREE hotspots? Seem like I prefer to have GPS than Wi-Fi.

The BlackBerry Curve 8310 is an excellent device but the keyboard backlight is dull compared to the bright WHITE (flourescent) light of the Pearl 8100. Does anyone know of a way to replace the dull keyboard light with the bright white light?

Bought so many phones, but its never been so confusing to me!!
Why do I need GPRS network to access blackberry maps(or any gps maps) when there is a GPS receiver in the unit for navigation? IS THIS SOME KIND OF MONEY MAKING STUNT or there is anyother wayout to download an application that CAN BE USED WITH THE BB8310?
                  ???

                    @NHjH

To do a security wipe, go to Options\Security Options\General Settings, click on the BlackBerry button and select "Wipe Handheld" from the menu.

                    BB's are the best!

my question? The GPS on BB8310,does it work on GPRS network of the cellular provider or it is actually an integrated GPS receiver?
                      THANKS

I highly recommend this Blackberry, because it has both a camera and GPS, which is i think more useful than WiFi. Compared to the others, the 8320 has WiFi and camera but no GPS, 8820 has WiFi and GPS but no camera .

I want to get the 8310, will be using all the business settings (had nokia 9300i, worked well) and are exited about the GPS but heard that the GPS function is not as effective with MTN, can any one give advise on the BB 8310 on MTN package, does/can it work properly?? or rather charnge to vodacom.

I am looking at getting myself a BB.

I handle multiple businesses and hence use multiple email IDs, 3 to be precise. Any idea if the BB can be configured to handle multiple mail IDs, like I presently do on MS Outlook?

Can anybody recommend the best option from the models available? I am looking for a model that can support:
                                    1) send/receive file attachments in mail
                                    2) open & edit of Word files
                                    3) open & edit of Excel files
                                    4) open PDF files
                                    5) etc.

I want the service only for me (not for anymore staff) as I am constantly moving between offices. Can I work it as a stand alone device or do I need to setup the BB Enterprise Server?

I have been using a BB 8100 for over a year now and I have had the problem with the call logs and txts disappearing. It turns out that when the memory on the device gets full (with photos, txts and emails) it auto deletes the txts and call logs to make room for emails etc. Just delete some txts and photos and turn the handset off, take the battery out and when it starts up it will have loads of free memory!
