Hey,
A friend has this phone and says the camera used to have upto 4X zoom but it doesn't seem to work anymore..
I tried reducing the picture size and quality but still no result.. Can someone pls advice?

This type is very Cheaper blackberry and more economic,the feature wasn't too bad, memory internal 2 times more bigger than bold and we can download more favourite applications.Good and best seller..

I've used Gravity on my N85 and it sucked, but then again, I blame the n85 because I had so many issues with I decided to hate it and pawned it lol.
And, I'd like to add that the way the BB integrates your messages into one location and gives you instant access from within different apps, is what makes me prefer the BB platform. But, as you said, it's all personal preference. The Android and iOS platforms are great as well, just for different things.

Every single time I open the bb app world it says that its not availible in my country and closes... Isn't there a way to get around that to make it open

I was able to upgrade to 5.0 through the blackberry website. I had to subscribe to the BIS for a day to make it happen. My curve 8520 now is much better as compared to when it was running 4.6. Everything is way cooler! The UI, the mp3 player, the search options, EVRYTHING! It's like i'm using a brand new fone.
I enjoyed using push email, bb maps and bb messaging, I just wish it was free. My Nokia E series phones have it but the BB experience is more enjoyable. The only reason why I rate Nokia higher than the BB is because of the added price.
If you can afford it, GO BLACKBERRY! You won't regret it. You know what they say,
"Once you go Black(Berry), you never go back!"

OLD OLD OLD why do people still buy this curve?..OS outdated slower than new bb's crappy gsm signal..... if u want a curve get the new curve 3G much faster phone gps OS 6 when updated its worth buying

Hello, don't listen to people who say that facebook is slow, if you have edge the internet overall is pretty quick,even gsmarena only takes seconds to load, the camera is not great but will do the trick. Mxit is not up to standards yet but they will hopefully bring out a version that works soon, please just be careful with your screen, I hardly did anything to mine and it pushed in and the plastic around the trackpad is not popped up and they want R700 to fix it but otherwise not a bad phone at all and DVIX is great

this phone has been good,it introduced me to the BB world and i must say...i dont i'll ever use another make....i'm addicted to the unlimmited web and free chat zones,,,i give it a 7:10

xander, 21 Nov 2010which one is better? BB bold 9000 or BB curve 8520?Bold is better...But price is more than double that of Curve..But to reveal the full functionality of BB dont go for Curve.

BB FaceBook application suxx.its very slow.if ur frnds list has more that 300 frnds ur BB will die processing it..
IM applications are good.
I couldn't find any use of BB messenger.
LinkedIn application is fine.
Could try much games in it.
I would suggest yu people try BBs with more clock speed. Even the normal android phones hav 600mhz speed.

Hi,
I have been using BB8520 for past 6 months.
I could find a lot of cons.
1) Battery backup suxx..max 24 hours for normal usage
2) The rubber lining came off.lost de volume control buttons.:-(.. Need to pay RS.1000 min to get new housing.
3) Says to be 512 mhz processor, its slow.
4) BB internet service is a min of RS.400 per month for prepaid gsm.
We cud use android or iphone gprs for just 95 rs.
5) I am facing probs in accessing youtube through BB service
6) Camera is pathetic
7) Price is 12K. Better to get samsung galaxy 3.
8) No 3G
Pros.
1) Brand name
2) The BB signature in mails :-)
3) Nice key pad.
4) Nice trackball control
Verdict
Try other BB products. I hope this is the most cheaply available model.feels like this is de most basic model.I am targetting an android or nokia..
