jkbjackson, 02 Nov 2010Hi Please Can someone help. I have been Looking to get eith... moreIf I were you, I'd be getting the 9300 instead of the 8520. I had the 8520 and now I have the 9550. 3G isn't too much faster compared to EDGE, but I did notice that donwloading/uploading pics/apps was a few seconds faster with 3G. But, the main advantage that the 9300 has over the 8520 is BB6 compatiblity. The 9300 already has a leaked version of BlackBerry 6 while the 8520 won't be getting it. BB6 isn't totally groundbreaking but it is a slightly better experience compared to OS's 4.6 and 5.0.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2010what are the features that are unusable without a BlackBerr... moreWell, you cannot do much without the BIS. You cant send or receive sms's, you cant use the messenger, you cant access much without it, and that is the catch! But with BIS loaded it is a amazing handset!

For everyone asking, for Facebook and other RIM applications/services to fully work, you need BIS activated on your SIM card. BIS is a BlackBerry data plan that can be contracted in prepaid and postpaid, depending on your location. Check with your service provider for more info.
