In the end I chose to get the Curve because it's more user friendly and BB OS is really a class of its own.
I used to be a Nokia user but after getting this phone, I think I will stay with the brand.
The camera is dismal though and that's the only gripe I have about this phone.
But the social networking integration is the best. Also having access to emails is a lifesaver.
Just be sure to apply for a BIS plan so you can get your BB's worth. Otherwise it'll be just a normal mid range phone that can call and text.

This phone is an average bb but it is actually quite good and the ratings are on point.

Jp, another solution to your problem can be is to transfer everything to your other phones memory card and just put that SD-memory card into your phone. A hassle but a solution none the less hahaha....

Hi JY. I can pair with other devices, but as soon as that person tries to send me something, the message on their phone say something like "Other user's handset nog compatible" It doesn't even give you the chance to send something... This is really confusing... LOL

hi i've not used a bb b4 and my interest now is to get a qwerty keypad phone. so i'm deciding b/w nokia E71, samsung omniapro B7330 and this bb. so does anyone here ever used any of these phones b4? and for a student which would be more appropriate for usage? thanks :)

Just simple..parring with the the phone u wan to receive file, then go to main menu and go to Media > press Settings (left of trackball) > Receive using Bluetooth. That's it.

some of my friends said that it is not advisable to drain BB battery. Based from their experiences charging BB should be done when it is already in low bat. Is it truw?

1) Where can I find in my de... moreWell, I haven't been able to find any thing on the device itself for that, but I have seen an app that measures that. Forgot what its called but you can find it searching on crackberry.com.
As for the PIN, there isn't any way to change the PIN, as far as I know. That number is what the BIS servers use to identify each device. Which is why if a device has been used with a BIS account you need to make sure it is released from the data base before using it with a different BIS account.

i've been using this great machine for 3 months now..since then i've been a regular name in this forum..i already help a lot of friends here along with my other friends name JRF n safoo..i also not just helping pple but sometimes i also seeking for answers about anything regarding this fone..its fun man, when u find friends who r using a same device n sharing a new things together..so,about this fone what can i say :
1)its a great damn awesome fone..although the device doesnt has a 3G but the EDGE (2.75G) is not slow..it takes only 1 or 2 seconds to open a page..
2)cam is only 2MP, but the clarity is no doubt..i mean,even though when u take a pic under the direct sunlight also the quality is still there..
3)speaker is awesome..i never set the volume to the max, maybe 7/10,still the ringtone n all other alert tones will be heard loudly..but if u want to listen to the music via mp3 player i suggest u better use the headset..its superb..
4)it has a dedicated music key on the top of the device along with the speaker..u can listen to the songs without hassle..it also a short cut key to open ur Media(that contains music,picture,video n etc)..
5)MMC can be expanded up to the 32GB (max)..
6)internal memory is 256MB..but after deduction for the usage of the system it left about another 130MB(with this memory,u can install a lot of apps too..dont worry)
7)like the iphone which has the "iphone apps store", BB also has their own portal to the 3rd party software called "BB apps world"..
and there are a lots more but i guess the rest u need to find out urself bro..although this is great machine i can tell u but still it also has a "weaknesses"..so,be patient while using it..any devices in the world no matter what their brand n names have their own strength n weaknesses..
what u must do is,b4 u decide to buy this device,plz go to the nearest hp shop n ask the retailer to show u the demo set..then play around with it first to get some ideas..then make a good research..BB is quite complicated but it is not complex too..u just need to know ur device..then only u will enjoy it..good luck bro..

2) Is the PIN for BB can be changed?I know that every BB devices,got their own
Unique PIN..is the PIN is already fixed in the device or given by carrier?

As far as the phone's performance go, I'm very pleased with it. Very convinient. Myself and my girlfriend both have this phone now and the bb IM makes comuniicating alot faster and easier!

Hi. I realy want to get the 8520 bb for me and my gf.I really like this phone. and the BIS system it uses. but people trying to change my mind bcoz it doesnt hav 3g internet and telling me its a slow phone... I just want to know is it realy such a big deal i mean u get free unlimited internet so its not like ur getting charges to wait for the page to open. but honestly is it a big deal or are they just being difficult? and the bbm is it instant or does it freeze sumtimes? please sum1 answer
