Searched everywhere and most things say that it doesn't blink after a missed call unless you have Missed Calls set to Messages (Press green call key>options>call logging>missed calls>save). Which I do, and still no luck. Even on BB's official website they say this. Oh well, lets see what happens later.

blackberrian, 28 Feb 2010nope bro,i havent reject the calls from my device but with ... moreOk, this is wierd. This morning I recieved a phone call and the LED was blinking while it was ringing, I didn't answer and now my LED doesn't flash! On crackberry.com they told me that it doesn't blink, but others say it does, so nobody seems to know. I was sure that mine did as I always call myself to check out my ringtones. i'm still waiting on a response from a more experienced user, hopefully he can help me. Until then, there's nothing we can do I guess.

I also dont get LED flashing when missed call.

I get what JFR Described--> i.e. the message & the small phone mark with x on it, indicating a missed call.

So it is the phone (no defect or so).

Are you hanging up on your phone or the other phone? If you hang up from your phone (reject the call by pressing End) then it won't blink. If you are doing it from the other one, then I don't know. I'll check it as soon as I can get a chance.

Make sure you have Missed calls selected so you receive a message whenever you miss a call. It should appear in the Message app. Now lay the phone down, let the screen go black, then call yourself. Let it ring, hang up and see if it blinks. You should get 2 icons: 1 phone with a red x and 1 new message. Now the Messages app should have a red circle with a * in it. If you open Messages the circle goes away but you'll see something like this: (1) depending on how many messages you have. Check that and see what happens.

Kiki, 26 Feb 2010Are BBs much better than the Nokia E series or are they ver... moreBetween Nokia and Blackberry phones there are a few differences. The e63 has its advantages as well as the 8520 having its own. Besides 3G the main difference is that blackberry needs BIS to be fully taken advantage of. Nokia is a little more open but you still would need a data plan for their push email service so it is basically a choice of preference. I must be honest, I find Blackberry very stable and the EDGE connection is sufficient for email, chatting and socialnetworking like Facebook and Twitter. I lost hope when my n85 kept deleting stuff, Nokias are really buggy and not all firmware updates become available. You would need to change your product code. I didn't and decided to sell it. I prefer the keypad on my gemini over the e71 but prefer the Bold 9000's over the Gemini. I won't mention GPS because I don't use it. Plus the 8520 doesn't have it, but the 8530 does(plus 3g). Google maps works good enough. Nokias offer more customization options (themes mainly) but blackberry has a few good ones. I must admit, I saw a vid of Nokia Messaging on a N97 and it looks more eye-catching. I just don't know if the e63 offers the same experiance. Still my push email is quick, little to no delay, and I'm not sure how stable Nokia's service is. One thing I don't like about Blackberry is that the App memory depletes with usage, while it hasn't been a problem, with time you would need to reboot. Do some more research before purchasing. Any more questions, I'll be glad to help if possible.

new blackberry user, 26 Feb 2010hey guys,i've upgraded from a nokia N95, just want to know ... moreApps are usually OS (operating system) based. If your app is for Symbian S60 devices, then, no. You need to search for a Blackberry OS based app. By GPRS, I assume you mean apps that work via web. You need BIS for most apps to work. But you would need to make sure you have App World available in your country or search forums to help you find free apps. Blackberry doesn't have as many apps as Symbian, even less than Apple, but it does have most of what you need! Or if you choose not to use BIS, then you'd need to find apps for wifi only connections.

WiFi can still be used but you need a wireless modem/router from your internet provider or public area (library, restaurant, etc.) Also if you plan on activating BIS, make sure the PIN and ESN numbers are free, or not reported as stolen, lost or blacklisted. Otherwise you won't be able to activate the service.
