Have had this phone for a month now. Not particularly good. Just froze/blanked out on a few occassions. Can't use a free data plan that I had before: must get BIS/BES for newtwork. BB browser often slow and sometimes will not render pages. Opera Mini improves this. I prefer Nokia E Series which I had before. It's much more flexible with data connections, and was faster to load pages especially on wi-fi.

I wish it had the same front cover as the 8900.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2010Can we download apps for bb8520?The problem with finding apps is that you need to be sure that they can run on wifi if you don't have BIS. If you do have BIS, then just about anything will work through the network. You can search forums like crackberry.com for apps and themes and stuff.

i got this phone for Christmas and it has been great so far. Youtube is great, facebook and then u can download the app world which gives u a tonne of free apps its simply amazing. the touchpad is a genius interface for the blackberry, reminds me of my laptop mouse pad. the only fault i hav found so far for this device is that there is no flash, so the picture quality is poor, but this is great buy ppl.

Why oh why did they take the flash of this camera? Can't understand it! Only thing it's missing! Gutted I didn't realise until I got it, I just assumed it would as the Curve 8900 does?! :(

only thing which lets this phone down is that there is no flash with the camera!

noidea, 10 Jan 2010and if we're out of the hotspot do the conection change au... moreWell, I think if you have a BIS data plan, you can use both wifi and network internet, if you leave the hotspot then you automatically go back to the network, and you don't need to set it to hotspot browser, just leave it as Internet Browser. But if you don't have a data plan, then once you leave the hotspot it doesn't go back to the network connection. It just saves your settings as hotspot browser and won't connect to the internet unless you're in a hotspot.

You need to open the browser and go to menu/options/browser settings and select hotspot browser. Then, go to general and choose default browser to hotspot browser. Save all the options. Then go to menu/options/advance options/browser. And make surethat also says hotspot browser. And your wifi logo needs to be white, not grey.
