how to reboot ( hard or soft ) or factory reset on bb8520 when the keypad is not responding and keypad lock is on .i tried by pressing the keys alt shift del but no use.Can it be done by connecting to system.

i have bb 8520 when the set is connected to charger the screen is on after pulling the charger pin out it stays on for around 1 min and the screen gets off .To on the screen i must connect the charger or call on the number which is in the bb set .
Another problem is it is keypad locked and keypad is not responding but trackpad responds sometime.
Anybody has the solution for this pls reply i m waiting

All you need to do is : instal bb desktop software (on the bb8520 cd), then update to os 5. there is option to back up first. The good thing from bb even sms can be back up

Worst "smart"phone ever, no smart at all, bugging every day, battery is low every day, you cannot go to the internet or donwload apps, as they don't exist on the BB platform, which is compatible with nothing else; you cannot trust the clock (can bug at night and never ring)...every side button is broke, sometimes you don't receive full messages (you have "missing text" instead and it never comes back) for me that's pretty simple, this phone should have not been marketed...BB took its responsabilities, as a result it is a brand i will always avoid, hope you will do the same, this phone is just thievery, you'd better buy a non-smart phone at least basics fonctions will work...
