hi guys, just sharing my experience with my bb 8520. i got this phone from a postpaid plan and even at the time, i had my doubts that i would actually like it. to give everyone a brief background about my phone usage, I seldom have calls. if i do have or make a call, its mostly to a family member to check on my little boy while i'm in the office. most of the time, i use my phone as an ebook reader, mp3 player, camera (when I don't have my digicam hand) and alarm clock. i've been through phones with nokia, samsung, sony ericsson and motorola. the only phone i haven't tried is an iphone - just because its going to take A WHOLE LOT OF EFFORT to plug my gazillion ebooks into it before i can enjoy it. since the time I got the phone, i could say that the only problem i've had with this phone is that it deleted my memory card when i pligged it in my software manager when i was installing it. im not sure why but that is the only time that it pissed me off. what i greatly like about the phone is that i can customize the font SIZE of my phone. im near sighted so its hard for me to read texts if the font is too small - this is the reason why i tried to use SE and Samsung smartphones. nokia's smartphones just does not work for me. still image and videos are ok by my book especially for those just had to take the picture/video moments and i don't have my digicam with me. especially if the lighting is good, then the still images are passable. call reception is never a problem, come on, its a Blackberry. they've always had this call reception this down pat! push email is on time, unlike some other phones i could mention. and social networking is great whether i use the browser and check FB or by using the FB application and what not. the trackpad is joy to work with. just set it to how fast/slow you want it and you are set. the submenu thing take a little getting used to especially if you are coming from phone like nokias or samsungs or s.e.s with flashy icons and widgets and stuff. but i'm good with that, anyway, i don't usually go through the whole thing other than my usual: SMS, call, camera, calendar, calculator, my ebook reader, docs to go, email, browser. as for my ebook reading experience using the phone, i must say that i need a bigger battery than what it currenly has. yes i know its a smartphone and not a laptop or tablet or ebook reader. and yes i also know that smartphones - in general - has doesn't really last long or as long as you want them to last. what matters to me is that it gets me through a day out of the house. besides, i can't take my phone in my cube due to security regs but that's a different story. i can always plug in when i get home. for those who would comment on why don't i just buy an ebook reader, i'd answer you in advance. i don't have a car so i rely on public transportation to and from work and i work on a night shift. bringing a lot of gadgets with me is like waving a banner saying LOTS OF GADGET HERE, PLEASE MUG ME. anyway, i guess it all depends on what you want your phone to do and how much your budget is for a phone. seriously. a lot of people out there would agree or disagree with the user experience of other people. it may or may not work for you. if it doesn't, then go get yourself another phone. no need to curse and bad mouth the unit/company to kingdom come if the unit you got did not work for you. i like my bb. i'd upgrade to different model but most of their current line ups is on a touch and type thing that i don't really like so i guess i'll wait for something that strictly type thing!

i have now nokia c3 ... but i wanna to compare it with bb 8520 .... is blackberry is a good phone or not

Im planning to get this bb fon however it doesnt have 3G capability and only has 2MP cam. Is it a big factor to lose?

Hi!
I have been using BlackBerry 8520 Curve model for the past 2 years. Unavailability of Call Recording Option is the only discomfort.
Can some one help me to find it out?

This is good phone. Good Battery back up and easily handle as well as typing. But lack of 3g and GPS it does not say that it is a 5 star phone. Even I sold it and taken galaxy. But BB is far better than Nokia or Samsung. I wanna purchase it again.

i think it's not a good idea to buy bb curve 8520....nokia E63,nokia E71,is more better....than this one.....
Cause it's not a 3G phone.
It's don't have push e-mail.
it's don't have ''WI-FI''internet.
