Anonymous, 08 May 2010how can you say 8900 is better than 8520, are you out of yo... more8520 is an entry level phone for blackberry, it has minimal specs. so if you want performance 8900 is your better bet, only problem for the 8900 is the trackball but im willing to overlook that

Had one until I got robbed, but it was a brilliant phone, a bit of a bitch to figure out in the beginning and no 3g, but once you have it down pat its superb...
          Thanks Blackberry :)
I liked it so much I got a 9700 bold and this is every phone I would want(but I miss my track ball)

I use a blackberry curve 8900 since September 09. About 3 months now the phone turns itself off and when I turn it back on again it asks me for the pin code. This was happening frequently so I returned it to Carphone Warehouse and received a new phone four days ago. The new phone also turns itself off and shows no signal but sos. I do not keep the phone near any electrical appliances, set top box or near any metal objects. I removed the battery and re-inserted many times, etc. HELP! please anyone. I live in Harefield Middlesex and checked with T-Mobile on coverage. They assured me I was receiving full network coverage. So where do I go from here? I need the email services daily for business use hence the Blackberry 'phone. Helpful suggestions please..

Hello everbody, i am from mozambique, africa.

There is a way to use all blackberry services whith out having a BIS or BES service from the carrier.

I have done this on my bb bold 9000 and i am doing GPS,INTERNET,etc.. using WAP from my operator.

                          Regards,

                          NJMP

i just bought an curve 8900, i was realy happy, but at home i realised that, is had to finde aplications for it, i used my old phones alot for voip or IM , using nimbuz or fring, with my other models of phones like n95 i could send pictures and make phones calls to skype thru nimbuz, with the blackberry i´m only able to chat, i´m shure i can finde softwares so i can do voip on it but im tierd to search, and a BIG minus is that it dosent have 3G, tommorw i´ll take it back, soory!

Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, Myspace, email... all this relies on BIS servers to push data. If you have BIS, then you can use them over wifi as this will help out with faster data speeds but without BIS active on your phone you'll just get the "Service not available for this device" error.
